Rhuul’s Flame (Realms of Possibilities #1) by Nulli Para Ora (Review By Leah)

**Review By Leah From The Nerd Girl Page**

*This book was given to me in exchange for an honest review*

I loved this book from the start! Rhuul on the other hand was harder to like in the beginning! He seems arrogant and egotistical even as he is being exiled from his homeland. Exiled to Akash, Rhuul automatically forges a contract with Ghena, a fiend who helps him find a place to stay. Immediately, he begins to have dreams of an exotic woman that is in dire need of his help! Even though he doesn’t know this woman he feels compelled to rescue her.

Avelea is captured by a tribe of pirates, after they stole a important relic from her tribe, she steals it back from them and hides it. As they torture her and bind the majority of her magic she struggles to reach out to someone who can save her before it’s to late. Avelea recognizes that Rhuul is her kan’na, or soul mate the one destined to make her whole.

Ora’s writing style is beautiful, she creates a beautiful and intriguing world where love transcends the different species and cultures in her world! The love scenes are… Continue reading

Joey Paul – 3 Books (Reviews By Jaime C)

Dying Thoughts-First Touch

***Reviews From Jaime C For The Nerd Girl Page ***

*This  Set Of books was given to me by the author in exchange for an honest review*

Tara has a secret, she can see your last moments of life just by touching something of yours. Kaolin doesn’t want anyone to know what really happened to her father. They are both about to find out that some secrets just don’t stay secret.

This was a pretty good read. I liked the story and it flowed really easy. The characters are ones I think teenagers will relate to. Joey Paul is a really good storyteller. I would definitely recommend this to my teenagers. It has a good storyline. There were a few grammar mistakes but it doesn’t take away from the story.

Now that Tara’s secret is out, she has the chance to help the police solve murders. This was a great follow up to First Touch. We learn more about Tara and Kaolin, her new best friend. The storyline was good and I liked the continuation of Tara and Kaolin’s friendship. A definite must read if you… Continue reading

Eye Spy by Tahir Shah (Review By Cianna)

**Review By Cianna From The Nerd Girl Page**

**I was given a copy of this book, by the author, in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own and not influenced by this gesture**

Wizard A+

Tahir Shah’s Eye Spy delighted more beyond what I expected. This book’s synopsis caught my eye, and I decided to grab this book from Nerd Girl’s review list.  I always keep an eye out for the unexpected, because I feel like those unexpected titles often yield great things. Eye Spy is an unexpected, humorous horror. Tahir weaves a tale so dark that you wouldn’t think you’d enjoy it, but the bursts of humor make this a quirky mix that goes down quite well. The don’t lie when they say you’ll see the world a whole different way after reading this book! I sure am, and I’m loving it!

I’m going to break down my review a little more detailed:

The Cover: This cover is extremely eye catching, not to be punny. It’s got eyes everywhere. It’s visual, and attractive, and makes you wonder what’s going on in the book.

The Plot: The plot of this book develops naturally, it leads you to… Continue reading

Libations By Penelope L’Amoreaux (Review by Rach)

***Review From Rach  For The Nerd Girl Page***

**I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.**

  • Libations – A collection of three erotic short stories.

Brewing desire.. Shana is a 26 year old virgin who seems to be a bit of a lonely soul with friends who tell her to just get laid – like she wouldn’t have done that, had it have been that easy. Shana is looking for answers, and thinks ‘what the hell’, when she comes across a gypsy tent at the fair.

Lady Vin is the gypsy with rich cocoa skin and dark curly hair, slightly crooked white teeth. Shana, being a virgin, can’t tell if she finds Lady Vin erotic and she feels lust for her or fear.

The story really starts to pick up here and that’s where I’m going to stop telling you anymore. The story picks up its pace, picking you up and dropping you back down leaving you wanting to know more.

Course Grind.. She (as she didn’t have a name, but it worked all the same), wanted to break up with her partner. Listing the cons of how he annoys… Continue reading

Stone Secrets by Jordan Scott (Review by Jessica)

***Review From Jessica For The Nerd Girl Page***

*I was given a free copy of this book by the author in exchange for an honest review*

This book has the beginnings of a good series. It has your basic plot of good vs. evil with action and a little romance thrown in. I liked the book overall but felt at times it was a little repetitive and long-winded. The storyline was pretty easy to follow and it didn’t take long to pick up. The main characters, Kaia and Aiden, were likeable but I felt once they reached Ireland, Kaia’s demeanor/personality changed and she wasn’t the same character that you read about in the beginning. Once shy and reserved, in the beginning, she was bold and forward once reaching Ireland. At one point in the story she pretty much throws herself at Finn, one of the first boys she meets. I felt like their relationship was a bit rushed and uncharacteristic of her. Which left me wondering what was happening. The author did good with her descriptions of the events taking place and her word building helped to lay out the scenes in my head. The ending was a cliffhanger… Continue reading

Second Chance Rose by John McCaffrey (Review By Jessica)

***Review From Jessica For The Nerd Girl Page***

* I was given a free copy of this book by the author in exchange for an honest review*

This short story reminded me of episodes of “The Twilight Zone.” It had an unexpected twist at the end that I didn’t see coming, which I love when reading short stories/novellas. Right from the beginning the author grabs your attention. His descriptions of the scenes make you feel like you are there, on that rooftop with Sally. The storyline was easy to follow, word building was good and it flowed nicely. It only took me about 15 minutes to read and I would recommend it to someone who is looking for a psychological thriller type read.

All In The Name of Love by Margaret Taylor (Review By Laura)

***Review From Laura From The Nerd Girl Page ***

*This book was given to me in exchange for an honest review*

Adrian Hoyle is a successful lawyer in LA who spends most of her time working and spending her free time indulging herself with films starring Devon Varick, which then quite obviously leads to fantasies and dreams about the actor. But Adrian lives in reality and she knows that dreams are all she will ever have. Until a chance encounter with Devon Varick pulls her and Devon into a life of romance and danger that Hollywood wishes they had thought up.

I was excited yet hesitant to read this, I love Margaret Taylors writing, but I tend to be really hit and miss with contemporary romance. But I don’t know why I ever doubted Margaret’s ability to pull me into a whole new world and then be gutted when it’s over. This is no ordinary boy meets girl, boy likes girl, she’s hesitant and yet he wins her over anyway. Margaret creates real obstacles that test both their loyalty and commitment to each other which gives both characters so much more depth and likability. The crime element really puts the… Continue reading
