Impulsive, YES. Irresponsible, SURE. Necessary, PROBABLY. Going to end badly, most likely. Does any of that matter to me, no. I decided that I can’t please everyone so this week my only goal is to please me. I’m a selfish cow but I can’t seem to help it. I’m Clara Lord. I own Bloodline’s Tattoo Parlor, have a filthy mouth, no filter and a really strong objection to bossy idiots, pet names and wealthy men.
You will hate me, love me or love to hate me but either way it doesn’t matter. Everything I touch turns to crap and it’s all my fault. See, I lived through hell. Then I escaped hell and carefully spent the next eight years crafting a perfect little life until Dominic Napoli screwed it all up. Now nothings right. Everything’s wrong and all my secrets are coming out.
Obviously I have to fix it, my life, the problem is I don’t really trust anyone and I don’t know how. Dominic baffles me. Sawyer adores me. Amanda and Marg try to keep me in line and I live for Allie. This whole things a cluster F***. I want them both in different… Continue reading

***I received this book from the author in exchange for a review.***
Running From The Night by R.J. Terrell is the first book in a fantasy series. This set up novel was better and more complete as a story than many series of late. Although I had a hard time getting into this novel, it was well written. This vampire story is a lot different from the other vampire stories I’ve read before. I think it will appeal more to men. Aside from being written by a man, it is written from the male main character’s point of view.
The story really picks up about half way through the book when the vampire action ramps up. I enjoyed the vampire characters significantly more than the human characters. The main character, Jelani, is the target of some powerful vampires and yet his big dilemma is which girl to pursue. He is also becoming the obsession of a 1/2 vampire named Saya. Thankfully, Saya’s interest in Jelani ends up saving his bacon more than once.
The Hunter’s Moon Series is worth the read.

Melanie here aka VampireLovingDork back with my review of Death Of A Black Rose which was I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of.
Death of a Black Rose is the third and final installment in Tish Thawer’s “Rose Trilogy” and I have been waiting to get my hands on it for about a year and so was thrilled to be able to read the ARC. These books have a totally original vampire type mythology and throws in a healthy dose of demonology for good measure.
This book did not go at all the way I had expected it to but I wasn’t disappointed in the least. When I got to the end I have to admit that this was the way things should have ended up although I would never have been able to predict it. An amazing mix of description and character development with the changing point of views you really get a feel for what is going on in the world but each voice is so distinctive I never felt I had to double check which perspective I was getting at any one time.
If you love… Continue reading
Melanie here aka VampireLovingDork back with my review of Ending ELE which was I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of.
Ending ELE is the fifth and final installment of the amazing YA dystopian series which has followed Willow through more than any 16 year old should have to deal with. A roller-coaster ride of a series that has had me laughing and crying but above all always craving more. The only good thing I can say about this being the last book is that at least this time there was no cliffhanger ending.
I wasn’t really sure where I wanted this series to end up but I should never have had any doubts with Courtney and Rebecca. They nailed it! Ending ELE answers all the questions you need answering without feeling like they are ticking boxes or trying to tie everything up in a nice bow.
The characters are amazing! It is hard to imagine how much they would have to grow from where they were at the beginning but somehow they still “feel” young. It is my experience that in many of these YA adventures that… Continue reading

TEN DAYS is a New Adult/YA crossover romance novel, based on the sci-fi short story “The Machine Stops” by E.M. Forster.
Nineteen-year-old Cally isn’t like the others. In her society, the Machine caters to every whim, ensuring people don’t have to leave their pods. But Cally and her best friend Marshal find themselves drawn to how things used to be, when people lived on the surface of the earth and relied upon manpower, not technology. When physical contact wasn’t uncivilized, and love was normal, acceptable, embraced. Cally tries to swallow down her increasing dissatisfaction with the “rules,” as well as her rapidly developing feelings for Marshal, a task getting harder each day.
Then, things start going downhill, fast. Food is spoiled. Air grows musty. The population panics about the dysfunction–is it sabotage? Anarchy? But Cally and Marshal discover the truth: The Machine, the answer to all their problems for longer… Continue reading

JACK CANON’S AMERICAN DESTINY – TO SOMEDAY HAVE THE POWER, TO DEDICATE THE HIGHEST OFFICE IN THE LAND–TO MAKE THINGS RIGHT. THIS TIME HE’S ALL IN.
Though this novel has got a bit of a political vibe to it, the skill of the writing made it so I enjoyed reading it. I’m not one who’s big on political books, but this had the right mix of action,… Continue reading

Meet Grace, a college student on the brink of finding out that she is half witch, half mortal. Only problem is, the emergence of her powers will put her people and another clan at war. Catherine wants Grace’s powers for her own. Grace’s aunt and her best friend vow to defend her. As does James, a witch from another clan, who Grace is very attracted to.
This is a great read! There is a lot of action and the story didn’t drag at all. The attraction between James and a grace is pretty hot. This isn’t your typical witch story, as these witches stand out. Witches with a twist! There are also werewolves, shape shifters, gargoyles and other supernatural creatures in the story, which I loved. I hope Gina Whitney has a sequel planned!

I wasn’t ready for how fast this book sucked me into it’s gravitational pull. From page one I was hooked. The author seamlessly draws you into a world where being a Muse can be dangerous. I really enjoyed the storyline and plot of this YA novel, it was different than most of the young adult books out there. I’ve read lots of YA novels and this is one of the best I have read in a long time. The characters are well written, the word building is good and the writing flows nicely. Anna and Daniel’s relationship isn’t based on teenage hormones like so many you read now a days. It was refreshing to read a book in this genre that was actually acceptable for a young adult to read. There was a little bit of something for everyone in this book; Action, humor (I laughed a few times while ready because of the banter), romance and… Continue reading

This is the second book I have read by this author, and I loved this as well! Ora describes a race of people hidden among us that are connected to water and gives them special powers.
Danny is one of these people! He is a special agent that works directly for his king taking out the enemies of their realm.
Alicia is a brilliant heart surgeon at the top of her field at a very young age. A surgeon in high demand, she has little time to socialize and have life outside of work.
When the two meet there are instant fireworks! Danny knows immediately that she is his dau-hael, or soul mate. He must get to know her and their relationship grows quickly. Soon though she is threatened by another faction of his world, they have been trying to kidnap her since she was a little girl. With the help of his best friend and partner he will do anything to save his soul mate from anyone who threatens her!
This book is beautiful and imaginative. The world hidden… Continue reading

This debut novel by author Dani Lovell, was fantastic! It had me laughing, crying and cheering on Daniel and Bea. It was sexy, without being overly raunchy, funny, romantic and a little sad at times. The author pulls you into Bea, Clare & Tilly’s friendship making you feel like you have been friends with them forever. I felt like I had known those girls for years. I felt like I was reading about my own girlfriends and I. Daniel, oh Daniel…what can I say? He was sexy as hell, without being cocky about it and very sweet/likeable from the beginning. I was prepared for him to be like most men in romance novels you read nowadays but he was a breath of fresh air. Kind, gentle/sweet (when needed), funny and down right naughty when the moment was right. The banter between Bea and Daniel was amusing. It’s what really pulled me into the story. I enjoyed how they genuinely enjoyed being around each other, even when… Continue reading
