Even though it’s a short story it’s a very interesting read that piques your curiosity just enough that your left wanting a whole lot more it’s a fantastic prequel that gets readers ready to dive right into book one (cause let’s face it with a ending like that you have to read on to find out what happens next.. right? LOL)!! I enjoyed reading this book and look forward to reading more books by this author in the future!

Beware The Wolf (A Falling Novel) by Laura Prior (Review By Laura)

***Review From Laura From The Nerd Girl Page ***

*This book was given to me in exchange for an honest review*

This book picks up exactly where the first one left off and throws you straight in with the action and Jasmine deciding to stay wherever it is she sent herself to, so she does not have to go home and face the awkward situation that is her love life. After killing a bunch of demons she makes some new werewolf friends with a story of a prophecy, could Jasmine be who they’ve been waiting for? She believes she is there for a reason, she just doesn’t know what that reason is.

This story is a lot more action packed than the first one and the beautiful thing? It’s the girls kicking some serious ass throughout. Laura really knows how to write a strong female lead that is relatable. The guys really take a back seat in this book with Jasmine doing all the heavy lifting throughout when it comes to being the protector.

This book did not grip me the same way the first one did, however I do need the third book now. Please. Thanks. The beginning and… Continue reading

Full Circle: The End of the Beginning by Michael “Hawk” Spisak (Review By Julie)

***Review From Julie  from The Nerd Girl Page***

I received this book from the author in exchange for a review.

The author, Michael Hawk Spisak describes Full Circle: The End of the Beginning as a devastating introspective into Native American culture and ceremony, spirituality, humanity, and society at large. The story is told from the perspective of Jackson Thermal, a white/Native American mixed blood.

In his acknowledgement, the author is intentionally banal and hoping to “piss off” and “offend” his readers. This is followed by a 12-page introduction that I would describe as an angry diatribe that presents biased opinion as the absolute truth that the reader is too misguided to have previously known. If the author’s extremist views haven’t “pissed” you off at this point, you might be tempted to continue reading this book. The introduction did northing to make me care about the author’s point of view or give me reason to accept the veracity of his statements, and his story did nothing to make me care about his characters or what happens to them.

There are many reasons I didn’t enjoy reading this book:

The plot rambles disjointedly–from a spiritual gathering in which Jackson participates… Continue reading

How He Really Feels by Lisa Suzanne (Review By Anna)

*** Review From Anna from The Nerd Girl Page***

Received from author in exchange for an honest review.

I’m not going to lie; I was really excited to read this book for a silly reason. OFFICE ROMANCE.

I’d never read a book about an office romance before so I jumped at the chance to be able to review it. During the day, I work a full-time job in a law firm, and yes once or twice it crossed my mind what it would be like to have an office romance. NOT WITH MY BOSS, but with…a co-worker of sorts, a lawyer was way too up there for me.

How He Really Feels follows the story of Julianne Becker who’s in love with her sexy new boss Nicholas Matthews. For a year they sat idly in the friend-zone until on New Year’s Eve things change and suddenly Julianne’s one-sided infatuation turns into a relationship between the two co-workers. Except there’s one problem. Nick signed a contract forbidding him to date anyone in his department. On top of all that there’s Travis, her long-time best friend who’s got a secret of his own. He’s been in love with… Continue reading

A Look Back by M. Sembera (Review By Jaime C)

**Review By Jaime From The Nerd Girl Page**

*This book was given to me by the author in exchange for an honest review.*

A prequel to the Rennillia series, this book tells the story of Rennillia (Ren) from the age of 15 until her high school, graduation. Since it was a prequel and also the fourth volume, I was weary about reading it. However, I was presently surprised. I couldn’t put it down. I had to find out what happened to Ren next. Now I want to read the first three books.

Rennillia lives with her abusive father and beat down mother. Her best friend, Hert, has a less than perfect life too. Down the line, Ren’s father introduces her to the Roberts and their son, Emerson, becomes one of Ren’s close friends. She starts dating Jackson, but then heads down the path of an abusive relationship when she meets Henley.

This was a short book, but it was well written. The characters make you want to get involved and find out what happens with their lives. It was a definite page turner for me and I can’t wait to read the rest of the series.
