Zombie Cruise (Zombie Vacations #1) by Janiera Eldridge (Review By Jessica)

Disclaimer: I was given a free ecopy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

As soon as you start reading this novella, you are thrown into action. The main character, Brenda, is startled awake by a young, terrified girl and it all goes down hill from there. They are in the middle of the ocean, on a cruise ship, surrounded by the living dead. Pretty exciting and terrifying, right? I thought so! The storyline is easy to follow and the author describes the ensuing chaos pretty well, making it easy to picture what’s going on. At times the story felt a little cliché, but not overly so. I enjoyed the references to the Titantic and the main characters drive to keep this little girl safe. There were a few minor editing mistakes, but not enough to make me want to stop reading. The ending was a twist I honestly didn’t expect but it did leave me desiring a different outcome. Overall it was a quick, easy read and I would recommend this to someone who enjoys reading about zombies and is looking for a light read.

Protected (Ariya Adams Trilogy #1) by Anna Applegate (Review By Michele)

**I received a copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.**

Ariya Adams is a senior at a small town university and like any other college student she goes to parties, sporting events and best of all is best friends with her roommate Caroline. In the best she has not had the best of luck in the relationship area so when she meets James she hopes that it’s  about to change. Not long into getting to know James though the normal world she thought she lived in was flipped upside down when she finds out that all the scary creatures of the night are actually real. Its almost to much to take in finding out there are vampires, werewolves and most of all that she has special abilities as well.

This book started out a little on the slower side and was a little hard to get into at first but a few chapters in and I was captivated by the book. I didn’t want to put it down I almost felt like I was at the college with Ariya and going through her struggles with her. I… Continue reading

Unicorn Witch by Derek White (Review By Cianna)

**Review By Cianna From The Nerd Girl Page**

Grade: A+

For the easily confused, this book might not work. You jump back and forth between two different settings for the book, especially in the beginning. It part of the plan, and stay the course, because this book is worth it! J

We see Refuge, planet like earth, inhabited by witches and various other freaking cool creatures. This is a planet I’d like to go to, it sounds like a fun place to be. The old one rescue witches, who are at risk on Earth, and bring them to Refuge to protect them; Refuge is a haven for all those who are different and not accepted on earth. This concept is so imaginative and interesting to me!

Unicorns, there are unicorns as characters in this book. It’s my childhood dream come to life in reality, or book reality. I loved this. It’s not a cheap thrill; these are well thought out unicorn characters! Who ever thought that this day would come? They are such a wonderful addition to this story.

There’s a bit of a Sherlockian element in the mystery, the illness causing people to lose their magic, and now Tyana’s… Continue reading

Stutter Creek by Ann Swann (Review By Jaime R)

*Review By Jaime R. From The Nerd Girl Page*

**Book Provided By Author In Exchange For An Honest Review**

Wow, just wow.  This little thriller had me wanting to read it all in one night then wanting to read between my fingers.

Beth retreats to the family cabin to try to find herself, her husband left her for another woman…
The *!?@#$….
Unfortunately she didn’t know there was some shady things going on at Stutter Creek. Also, she doesn’t know that someone is trying to kill her for sticking her nose into places that not need to be.
And the possible romance building with the old childhood friend….
Bad creepy guys, dead bodies, people mysteriously “being taken care of.”

This was a great great book. I would fully recommend it to all of my friends.  I hope to see and read more from Miss Swan…Kudos. It’s really really good!!! :)

The Debt & the Doormat by Laura Barnard (Review By Tara)

***Review From Tara For The Nerd Girl Page***

**This book was given to me in exchange for an honest review**

Well, I have to say, I was pulled into the crazy world of Jazz and Poppy, from pretty much the first page of ‘The debt and the doormat’. It was light, and fun and had in me fits of laughter numerous times!

When Jazz manages to get herself into thousands of pounds of debt, she asks her best friend, Poppy for help. Poppy, being the good friend that she is, agrees to do what she can to get her best friend out of trouble.

What Poppy doesn’t bank on, is being talked into swapping lives with Jazz.

Still nursing a broken heart a year after her last relationship has ended, Poppy is leading a lacking life, and with Jazz making all the rules, things are bound to get more interesting.

The girls move into each other’s home’s – This way, Jazz can focus on getting a job, and not spending so much money, and with a trio of socialisers for house-mates, Poppy can be prised back out of her shell.

Poppy has got to be the most unlucky, accident… Continue reading

*****18+ – Erotica Book – Mature Content*****

**Given a copy book from the author in exchange for an honest review**

A story about a profound women, who sacrificed her own adventures and life to take care of her husband. After his passing she wishes to take flight and embark on many adventures. She wants to experience all the things that she was unable to during her marriage. Her first adventure being a handsome rich architect. Who wants nothing more, but to claim her as his own. This book was an eye opening story. It takes you to a world where monogamous relationship has a whole new meaning. I enjoyed discovering about new adventures and new potential within two people. At first glance I would have said this book reminded me of a lighter version of Fifty Shades of Grey. Although I found that once I got a little more into the book I realized that, that assumption was completely false. These characters have their own uniqueness about them. This story is very empowering for women. It shows that there is life after loss and that any women can be confident and… Continue reading

Review – Life’s Perfect Plan by Sarah Goodman ARC V””V

Melanie here aka VampireLovingDork  back  with my review of  Life’s Perfect Plan which was I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of.

Now most of you know that I am not a contemporary romance reader normally, but when I did the cover reveal for this I couldn’t resist the chance to read the story from what little is given away in the synopsis.

Trust me … if a non romance reader like me enjoys this then it is really worth picking up!!  For a debut novel the characters are great, but I feel special mention needs to be made of one of the secondary characters Kate …… at the time of reading I didn’t know that she would be featured in a new book but I am thrilled that she is.  I still can’t decide if I “know” her or I “am” her but by the end of the book I am sure you will be looking forward to learning more and I think quite possibly she is the best secondary character created in a debut novel for me since I don’t know when.

Back to main story….. it is good! For the… Continue reading
