Nobody ever says, “I want to be a vampire when I grow up.”
Within every society and species there is a hierarchy. The supernatural is no different. Like all civilizations, the fall of the ruling class begot chaos.
As sentinel of the highest echelon, Talon Cantemir holds one thing dear…family. When the Courtiers threaten his parents’ existence, it’s time their centuries long assumed rule over the small Italian compound—home of the last concentration of supernatural—ended. A White-witch prophecy leads Talon to Arizona to play champion to the true ruler’s mortal heir. But there are complications. The willful beauty is unaware of her origins and destiny and a hybrid rogue is wooing the supernaturals salvation, their would-be-queen. Amelia.
Life is tragic for Amelia Keeler. People she loves die. In hopes of saving her remaining loved ones, she’s grown cold, distant. Dead inside. Until unholy cravings coupled with a magnetic attraction to two strangers challenge her idea of reality. Their instant rivalry and frightening tales of blood, extinction, and magic place her in the middle of… Continue reading

***I received this book from the author in exchange for a review.***
Secret Shopper by Tanya Taimanglo is a captivating page turner. It is a delightfully told story about a girl from Guam, the ups and downs of her loves and family, hard endings and promising beginnings. The story is well written, fun and filled with lovable characters. The romance is chivalrous and fairly chaste which is a refreshing change from the current trend. The characters are interesting yet realistic, and readers will be rooting for Phoenix as she blossoms.
Secret Shopper is definitely a good read.

Melanie here aka VampireLovingDork back with my review of Finding Jennifer which was given to me by the author in exchange for an honest review.
Finding Jennifer is a thriller that I have to say completely surprised me. About halfway through the book I couldn’t see how the author was going to spin out the rest of a story without boring me but I was wrong. The main character Draper and his sidekick DeCollado are very well written and I enjoyed their adventures so much that I actually contacted the author prior to writing this to see if there were any more “Draper” adventures that I could be a part of.
Filled with action I felt that this book for me only left me a little wanting when it came to the dialogue. For some reason there were times where I felt that the talking actually pulled me out from the story. All the time the writing was in the third person context I found it much easier to stay engaged.
A lot of people would probably describe this as a “guy’s book”. There is a lot of violence, not that it… Continue reading

Picayune By: John DeJordy
I was given this book in exchange for an honest review.
Although I am sure that this book was intended for younger readers, like 7+ I thoroughly enjoyed it. With its Narnia like characters, with a generous splash of Despereaux, and a dash of Nihm it captured my imagination much the way it did my children.
The main character, a dormouse who sees himself as completely insignificant in the grand scheme of things dreams of high adventure that he actually, to some extent manages to achieve. By uniting clans and vanquishing foes, in the end becomes the hero of his dreams!
I read this story to my children, and their reaction was awesome, sitting bright eyed dreaming of fairy tales and dragons! On the edge of their seat desperate to know what was going to happen next. This is what a children’s book SHOULD be like!
I fully believe this is a first rate book, for young and older alike. It helps to teach children to dream big, and always try to achieve goals over insurmountable odds! And… Continue reading
** Review By Mark – The Other Guy from The Nerd Girl Page**
By: Ryan Stead
The book Nation Man is a fairly unique book (at least in my experience). I have read a few “almost” like the style employed by Mr. Stead, however this book is a definitely a little different. It is essentially about love, loss, and triumph over seemingly supernatural odds!
Although the first the story starts out a little slow and lackadaisical suddenly unknown supernatural forces and presto your in it!!!! Unfortunately from there it is a little all over the place with no theme helping keep you on track. It seems to bounce from The lackadasical, almost whisical to love story, then brutal, lackadaisical…….. Get the picture?
At first the intro mini story is awesome, but quiclky your spirited away on a roller-coaster of disjointed tidbits (while written beautifully) that leave you with an all over feeling of “What is going on??”
Now giving Mr. Stead his due it isn’t easy to write, (especially in this style) and I think had he taken a few different turns like a chapter here put back a few, and a chapter… Continue reading
