Synopsis

He expected her to recognize him.
He expected her to be seduced by his charms.
He expected her to fall for him.
Expectations are a funny thing …

When his parents named him Herbert Lincoln James, they already had expectations that Linc would attend an ivy league university and go into politics. Linc didn’t. As captain of his swim team, he was expected to win the big relay to carry his swim team to the state championship for the first time in decades. Linc didn’t. Society expected him to walk past her. He couldn’t.

She expected him to see through her.
She expected him to make her into a joke.

***Stephenee – #NerdGirlSteph’s  Review***
This is my first book by author Alexandria Sure, but it won’t be my last one! I enjoyed her writing style, the characters and the respectful way in which she handled some hard topics. The reader can relate to the characters of the book, the self-esteem issues, the feelings that the author evokes from the reader and most importantly the story itself.

The plot is a bit predictable at times, and the reader doesn’t have to do much detective work in order to predict the plot, but it is well written, for the most part. There were a few spelling/punctuation errors throughout the story, but those could be over looked and didn’t detract from the reading experience. I felt like the author understood her characters and led the readers to understand them as well.

Linc is a typical college sports playing frat boy – but he has a heart – if Alexis will take the time to see it. Alexis is the insecure girl in all of us that we try not to let come out – she is all of us at some point or another. The two of them make the reader swoon, but can they make it work? Will it work?

The downfall of the book is that it ends in a cliffhanger, and there is no book 2 in sight. The story leaves the reader panting for more…and I am looking forward to seeing where the author takes us next!
