What if the fate of the world lies with the monster—not the hero?
The world is shifting, and Sammy has complete control. But as hidden truths surface, she starts to doubt everyone who is close to her. The Ancients and Kory have been harboring dark secrets, and it could mean war between the Dragon Fae and the Irukas. With the Defenders as her devoted soldiers, Sam must make some difficult decisions. Should she save the world… or save herself?
Blake won’t give up on Sam. He knows he can’t trust Tonbo anymore, or the web of lies he’s been thrown into. If he hopes to save Sam, he must find the real reason Kory created the bug army. Turns out there could be something far worse than bloodthirsty bugs buriedon the islands, and Blake will have to fight his own inner demons if he wants to save those he loves—including Sam.
In a world filled with mistrust and lies, Blake and Sam must unearth the truth and face their own fears and weaknesses. If they don’t, their lives—and the fate of all humanity—will hang in the balance.
GAAAAAAA – I felt like I have waited so long for this book and I THOUGHT I was prepared for it, but it turns out I wasn’t…it was too much for me to handle! It tore my heart out and barely put it back before I started reading the whole book over again. The author really did an amazing job with the conclusion to the series and she really, really was unpredictable in her plot. I was ready (more than once) to email her yelling, cursing and just really wanting to let her have it….BUT she redeemed herself by the end and we are able to remain friends (HAHA).
This is book 3 in the series and you must read the previous 2 books to understand what is going on. Lucky for you, book 1 is perma-free on all platforms, so NO excuses!! The main characters Sam, Blake, Mack and others jump right into the action of where book 2 left off with a bang. There was no backtracking, no trying to figure out if you missed anything, just a seamless transition right from the very start.
The author wraps up the story with an ending that satisfies and also makes the reader feel like they have been involved with the story from start to finish. It is like leaving friends, but it is in a good way. There is closure, there is a sense of happiness and the reader isn’t left wondering.
I can’t wait to read what author Amanda Strong comes up with next!! This series is unique, fun and completely different. Her writing style flows, is quick and doesn’t contain a lot of filler. I love her books – if you haven’t read anything by this author, you are missing out!! Sit back and be prepared to be wowed! Once you start reading, you won’t want to stop!!
