Synopsis

Nick Geary, jaded clan leader of human guardians the Keepers, is doomed to love a human woman who’s forgotten him, time after time, for thirteen years: Libby Klink, a skittish accountant who’s as terrified of her recent and strange intuitions as she is of her mundane existence.

When Nick is ordered by the clan’s guiding force to seek Libby’s help in defending the clan against enemy Betrayers, romance sizzles as the pair forms an unlikely alliance in their desperate search to discover the key to the clan’s salvation—which Libby alone holds.

But a haunting secret could cost Nick everything, and in a race against time, both will be forced to choose between their hearts and duty. Can their love, and the clan survive, or will the very forces that drew them together ultimately destroy them?

***Kristin – #NerdGirlSoldier’s  Review***
his is normally isn’t the kind of story I read, but I thought I would try it and I’m so glad I did. I loved the characters and the story. In a way, this as a fall from grace feel to it. There are Keepers, who I saw as guardian angels; Watchers that I saw as God like since they watch and tell the keepers who help ; and then there are the Betrayers, who I saw as fallen Keeper. You also have Nick, who is a Keeper, and Libby…who is a mix of Keeper and Betrayer. They have to work together to save humanity. They also have secrets that could tear them apart.

The characters were very well developed and showed a lot of depth and growth. I loves watching Libby become a confident woman who stood her ground and found her voice. Nick had to learn to balance being a leader with being humble. The story flowed well and does not end on a cliffhanger, but it does leave enough open for the second book. I’d recommend this book to you and I think I’ll even try the second book.
