Synopsis

The Dragon Dreamer is a fast-paced adventure with flying dragons, an undersea world, and unexpected friendship. It’s a young adult science fantasy layered for ages 9 to 99+.

Arak is different, a worthless dreamer, bullied by other young dragons. Determined to prove himself he leaves the clan and flies far over the sea on a dangerous quest. He’s caught in a fierce storm and crashes, suffering serious injuries and the loss of his trance-stone. A fearless, shape-shifting octopus named Scree finds and heals him and an unexpected friendship begins. Arak returns to the Winter Festival, where dragons carve glaciers with fire and toss lightning bolts in the clouds. When an undersea volcano erupts, it triggers a towering tsunami and a deadly chain of events. Can Arak use his secret gift to save the dragons?

***Kat, #NerdGirlKat Review***
Okay so here’s the deal, you need snacks, a wet suit and bring the whole family as you dive in! This book isn’t just entertaining, it is a plethora of information! This sea and land adventure is entrancing. We start with Arak the dragon soaring through the clouds when our first mishap takes place. Thanks to this we get to meet Scree an insanely curious octopus. Now by no means should these two engage each other, but they find that you can’t judge a book by it’s cover. (although the art on this cover should make you wanna read it.) The action is steady and intriguing throughout the entire book. With a secret love interest, plenty of action, and tons of educational information spoken in a way most kids will adore. I loved some the underlying messages that I picked up. What did you pick up? I have always loved eating octopus, I may have to rethink my seafood choices…Although maybe dweer would be tastey.
