***Stephenee – #NerdGirlSteph’s  Review***

This is my first book by author J.L. Lora. I really wanted to give it 5 stars, but there were a few things that it was missing for me…I was intrigued by the concept of the book and was slightly disappointed that it didn’t follow the path that I had expected. I felt like some of the Mafia stuff wasn’t there….what was Alec the head of? What made it mafia? I felt like it was more of a romance than anything. Carissa was against all things mafia, however, she turned into a Boss pretty quickly…everything that she was against she became involved in and that bothered me from a readers standpoint. I felt like I couldn’t trust her or relate to her because she never stood by her values and decisions….weird, I know, but hey, that is why it is my opinion.

The storyline did flow pretty quickly, once the reader realized that they had to let go of all of their previous expectations and just dive into it. The characters and their personalities were fun, flirty and loyal to those they considered family. I enjoyed the characters and would love to see a book about Mel and Leo in the future (the near future).

The storyline was good, once I got past my own issues with the description and the actual story that I was reading. The author kept the readers guessing and they were never able to predict what was going to happen next…especially the ending of the story. Overall it is a good read and I would recommend it, just don’t read the back first – start out fresh!

An enjoyable read that will leave you satisfied when you are finished. Sit back and one-click this one today – it is worth reading!
