I am an eighteen year old high school graduate who has just experienced my first… well, everything. I would give anything to hold on to Cooper but we made a decision. After thirty hours of falling in lust, after tonight we are parting ways. I am starting college and I can’t be distracted. Besides he has his own life to get back to.
The moment I saw her I knew she was the one but what my heart wants it doesn’t get. I know how life works. I have been fighting most of my life. My dad was a fighter and so was his dad. I watched my mom cheat on him and in return he destroyed her. I will never do that to a woman. I get thirty hours with Liz and then we are both walking away. At the end of the day, all we will have is the memories we have created here in Miami.
Five years later Liz runs into Cooper only he has no idea that memories weren’t the only thing they created in Miami. He broke her heart once the day he left and her heart is now guarded. Will he succeed in winning her heart back a second time? The only thing he knows for sure is that he is fighting for a second chance and this time he will not let her go.

***Kristin – #NerdGirlSoldier’s  Review***
I completely loved this book! From start to finish, I was captivated and entranced; I literally read all day just so I could finish it! The plot was fantastic and I loved that we saw both a young Liz and Cooper as well as their older selves. Watching Liz grow throughout the book was amazing; she started out as this innocent little flower, and then you just see her metamorphosis into a strong, self-assured woman and mom. Liz is such a great character because single moms will be able to relate to her in so many ways; granted the situation Liz finds herself in may be different than some out there, but I think it gives single moms a message: you can do this; you are not alone and there may be a man out there who will love you and your child together. Cooper, I feel, did the most growing. He had a childhood that wasn’t the greatest. The example of fatherhood that he got from his dad had such a negative impact on Cooper that he pushed away the woman of his dreams not once, but a second time. It took Cooper a while to come around to the idea that he could have both a career and a family; that his father was wrong and that his mother tried her best but in the end she wanted more than a husband who was around once in a blue moon.

The plot was just wonderful. I enjoyed how I got to see both points of view from Liz and Cooper; it really helped to understand where they both were coming from and just how scared they both were of a relationship. I feel that the transition from past to present was done seamlessly and that I had all the information I needed from the past. The story was so well paced that I wasn’t overloaded with too much or understimulated with too little; it was just right. I was so disappointed when I got to the end because I didn’t want it to be over. I’m definitely going to have a book hangover in the morning! I hope that there is a book two because I enjoyed this so much that I need more of these characters and their story! Go now and buy this book today!
