“Depression is a funny thing. Just when you think you have defeated it, and things are looking up, it comes out of hiding to play with your mind. Leaving you to wonder why you’re even living. Wednesday Emmerson was no stranger to depression. Her life has always been one traumatic event after another. When she meets Brian, she thinks her life has finally made the turn around she so desperately needed. Then he leaves her after three years, with no explanation or goodbye, and she is left once again to wonder where she went wrong in life. When she feels likes she can no longer fight in the ever pending battle with her own mind, she makes a rash decision that will change her life for ever, and will bring her news that she never expected to hear. Everything else that follows is just another day in paradise.”
**Reviewer Notes – self mutilation, suicide attempts **
A very real and heartbreaking look into depression. Grab a box of tissues because you are definitely going to need them.
Wednesday suffers from many things: depression, anxiety, doubt of her own self worth. To make matters worse, she is heartbroken over her ex Brian. Brian is a big…jerk who plays with her emotions like a cat playing with a mouse, biting and shaking, walking away and coming back for more. But she has other people in her life who let her know that it’s ok to lean on them.
A real rollercoaster of emotion, Elizabeth Cash a unique writing style that will make you gasp in awe that this is her debut novel. Definitely an author I will read more of in the future.
