Fay Wright and Justice Reed had tried their hand at love and failed. Their breakup almost destroyed both of them. But will the loss of a close friend bring them back together or will it shatter whatever love they still had for each other once and for all?
Main character, Fay, sounds like an angry teen rather than an accomplished author who is long past the “NA” age group. Her diatribes are judgmental and hypercritical. I found it hard to visualize her as a successful author. Love interest, Justice, a recovering alcoholic, is now a brooding alpha-male ready to retake his woman caveman style. I didn’t feel the chemistry between these characters. Their angsty relationship is like a set of angry waves crashing on the shore. Eventually the storm passes and the violent waves immediately subside.
The story premise is worthy of a soap opera plot featuring the ultra-wealthy (think “Dynasty”). These rich and richer folks’ issues aren’t easily fixed with money, but the money sure helps when things get tough. The drama runs high and fast, and it is highly entertaining. It’s hard to imagine having the money or problems the characters in Justice have, but you can’t help but be transfixed by their tabloid-worthy escapades.
