***Katie – #NerdGirlKtLBLy’s  Review***
Bailey thought her life was pretty perfect. She had a cute, popular boyfriend named Chace, she had two amazing friends, Indie and Christina, and they are all going on a road trip the summer before their senior year to have one more big trip together as a group. However, everything comes crashing down around her when Chace breaks up with her unexpectedly because he tells her she’s boring and was only staying with her because he was hoping the sex would improve. All she wants to do is sit in her room, listen to sad music, and eat ice cream and peanut butter but her friends convince her that going on the road trip would be good for her. She’s obviously uncomfortable because Chace is still going along, and one day she goes out for coffee and sees Chace kissing someone completely unexpected. Heartbroken, she texts a friend back home named Ryder Jones and explains what happened. Ryder is the typical bad boy. He’s had that reputation ever since he came back to school after disappearing for a few months unexpectedly. He used to be best friends with Chace until they had a huge falling out, which no one seems to know the reason why. He comes to get her and seems genuinely upset by what happened. He comes up with the idea that they should “fake date.” To pretend to be boyfriend and girlfriend to show Chace that she has moved on and is happier, especially since she’d be moving on with someone who is Chace’s ex friend. However the more they hang out and pretend, the more their real feelings come out and sparks start to truly fly, and Bailey isn’t sure if she’s pretending to have feelings for Ryder or if they are the real deal.
I loved this story so much. I read it in one day because I didn’t want to stop. There were so many twists and turns and unexpected moments that I did not see coming that made it much more enjoyable to read. There were moments when you want to shake Bailey because it’s obvious they have feelings for each other but she’s unsure of things because they are still “fake dating.” The romance feels genuine, and the characters act like typical teenagers who go through typical teenage issues. I can’t wait for the next in the series and am really looking forward to more.
