Synopsis

Victor Ruso has been on the run since the night he linked a cursed Immortal and his Guardian, reluctantly forcing his ascension as a Guardian Ink Master. Instead of something his loved ones could celebrate, the passing of that mantle destroyed his family. While continuing to chase his next ink high, Victor must now hide from both the Guardian who betrayed his father and an uncle who would kill to steal his gift and secret. But he never counted on fate dropping a dark-haired complication into his tattooed arms.

The death of Carmen Solvak’s beloved grandmother raises a question she’s not ready to answer. Will loneliness be her only fate since the legacy of their Guardian blood passed her by? Unaware of her dormant power, Carmen captures Victor’s soul with a single innocent touch. She struggles against his mysterious pull and the exciting new future he offers. Which path leads to her true purpose; the one Carmen planned, or the one fate just handed to her in the form of a sexy, Guardian Ink Master?

His gift connects them.
Her touch unlocks their fate.

***Shelly – #NerdGirlXrayer’s  Review***
When family legacies are a gift—and a curse.

Carmen has just lost her grandmother, the person who has helped lead her in life. As she mourns for her Carmen tries to figure out her legacy in life. After the death of their father, Victor is on the run and trying to keep his sister safe. When Carmen and Victor meet the pull between them is undeniable but it turns out to be so much more. Even after they discover that Carmen is a Guardian and can help protect Victor and Rori the secrets are still kept. As Carmen and Victor struggle to trust each other danger is close behind.

All of the characters in this book were intriguing and added a different depth to the story. I have not read the 1st two books in the series but it did not get in the way of understanding this story. After meeting the characters I will have to catch up on the series.

The story is full of secrets, action, angst, sexual tension, and twists that had you holding your breath. Death and destruction were hanging by a thread in the background and kept you heart beating a faster. I was so hoping that Carmen and Victor would be able to overcome the fear of the past and save the future. Ms. Decker kept you guessing until the end. An awesome, thrilling read.
