***Gladys – #NerdGirlOfficial’s  Review***

Romantic Suspense is not usually my go to but I do get in little spurts of intrigue when I have read a good book in the genre.  This particular novel held my interest enough to purchase book two, while only halfway through reading this one.

Murphy just wants to sleep in his bed after returning home from a rough tour of duty in Afghanistan.  Before he left he had purchased a fixer-upper in his small home town in PA.  Upon returning home to his half repaired home he finds a half naked women sleeping in his bed. The only good place to sleep in the whole house!

After untangling the mystery of the women’s reason for “living” in his home, he realizes that his brother dropped the ball.  Straight at his doorstep.  His brother rented Kate, Murphy’s house for the duration of his tour.  Only Murphy is home (NOW) injured and has PTSD. AND Kate isn’t who she says she is.

Being that Murphy is also a police officer in the Broslin Creek, his overprotective nature kicks in when everything about Kate doesn’t add up. She seems jumpy and guarded like she is hiding something.  Boy is she, but maybe living with a solider trained to kill will protect her from the assassin that is hunting her.

This suspenseful read will keep you on the edge of your seats and pulls you in with the well developed characters.  I will say it was short and hoped that a little more romance could have been built up but hey the author did write more in the series.  I hope to see them again.

4 Stars and a tip of my Nerd Girl hat.
