The shadowy figure of a cow is haunting the fields of Dumnien. A curiosity, certainly, but not much to worry about, is it? Until cows start going missing across the province, that is.
Curiosity leads Morgan and Jeremiah to investigate further. The more they investigate, the more they realise that the situation is far more horrifying and sinister than even they could imagine.
Determined to discover just what has brought the cologoro to Dumnien, and to put a stop to it, the boys band together to tackle the beast.
What a really good story! Twists and turns around every corner! A surprise in every chapter! Not only would an adult enjoy this book, so would kids 9 years old and up.
Imagine traveling back in time to the place you live at now. The house is the same. The Lord of the Manor is different. And there are loads of boys working the Manor and servants galore. Then you meet a boy you befriend right away. You feel a connection to him. But why? As the two of you work together and get to know each other, you realize that the boy is —- —– when he was 10 years old.
Cows on the Manor are being killed and the two of you see a strange dark shadow figure with blazing red eyes in the field. After doing some research in both time frames, you think it is a Cologoro, an evil sprite.
You follow the boys on their adventure to learn more about the Cologoro and how to kill it. The boys get into trouble along the way, but also make forever friends. They learn to trust in each other, even though when one of them goes into a deep sleep, he time travels back to the present.
The ending was exciting! All the boys came to help fight and kill the beast. A magic poison had to be used to kill it. It wasn’t going to be easy. As the boys band together, they find that as a team they can do anything.
I loved when it was all over and he walked into the dinning room and had a huge surprise waiting for him. Perfect ending! I really liked the style of the authors work. You didn’t get lost with the time travel. The story was very easy to follow. I wasn’t sure if I was going to like this book at first. But after the first chapter, I was hooked and loved the book. I look forward to reading more of the authors work in the future.
