You must betray your heart and walk amongst the darkness in order to find the truest light.

Opening her eyes to an imposing prison of complete darkness, Kasha is accused of possessing powers and abilities she had no previous knowledge of until the moment she comes face to face with herself while meditating. Haunted by memories strung together by lies and deceit, she soon discovers that maybe her beloved grandmother kept a few secrets she hadn’t been aware of. Secrets that could be her salvation… or her undoing.

As she struggles to control her newfound powers, only time will tell if they will be enough to help her decipher who has imprisoned her or what they want from her. She must search for the answers and the freedom she so desperately desires.

Could a handsome guy who vows to help her get away prove to be the man of her dreams… or perhaps her worst nightmare? Not knowing who to trust, she must find a way to escape before she pays the ultimate price and finds herself taken by the darkness.

***Stephenee – #NerdGirlSteph’s  Review***
This book starts with a bang (of a door that Kasha can’t see) and keeps the readers attention throughout the entire story. The reader gets their first “glimpse” of Kasha when she is able to astro-project to escape the dark confines of the prison she is currently being held in. Author Felicia Starr is able to weave a story that is rich in details, high in excitement and full of mystery, drama and maybe just a bit of romance.

Kasha is first introduced to Ziona who works for THE TAKER, the person behind everything that has happened to Kasha so far. Ziona is out to break Kasha of her secrets and to find out what her abilities are, but even Kasha doesn’t know this. Kasha is able to astro-project and there she looks for answers from Patrice, her sister, and even her recently deceased grandmother. What she doesn’t expect is to find Graven, a man/gargoyle that she instantly trusts and feels a connection too.

The author provides plenty of characters for the reader to become enthralled with, plenty of plot twists for them to guess and most of all an unending yearning for what comes next!! This is a different genre for me when reading this author, but it is one in which she excels at as well – She is clearly an author that can write in just about any genre and do it well!

Add this and her others to your TBR list – you won’t be sorry!!
