“Don’t do it, Annika,” he taunted. His eyes were no longer bright and charming but dark and intense, yet they still twinkled. He was tempting, but was he harmful?
Aspiring rock star Annika Brisby thinks she knows where her life is going until she steps through a broken portal that leaves her stranded in a realm of fairies, vampires, and other mythical beings. Unable to return until it’s repaired, she’s rescued by wood nymphs who believe her sudden arrival is no accident. After being taken in by a prominent family of elves, Annika finds herself struggling to resist the seductive spell of their youngest son, Talvi. Equal parts arrogant and alluring, the notorious heartbreaker seems like the perfect distraction for her homesickness. Her new friends warn her that she’ll probably regret ever laying eyes on him, and what begins as a casual fling quickly burns too hot to handle. By the time Annika learns the consequences of their forbidden trysts, Talvi’s already under her skin and dangerously close to her heart. But on the journey home she discovers that there’s a mountain of secrets that he’s not telling her, and Annika can’t help wondering who’s really in danger.
Spectacularly written and entrancing!! Emigh Cannaday takes this genre by storm. Her writing is fluid and her characters well developed.
This tale begins in America. Annika is a gifted mucisian with a boring regular fiance, who wants nothing more for her to settle her wild ways and give up music. Not knowing what to do she travels to visit her Uncle while he is on an expedition for old relics.
Everything goes swimmingly until she encounters 3 individuals in the bookstore. Attracted to their appeal and strange pull she thinks of them often even though she ran away after a small conversation with the mysteriously handsome male.
Later while walking through the woods, suddenly lost she runs into the ladies again and into a portal she goes!! Thrust into a world not known to her but errily familiar she finds herself in the land of elves, wood nymps and other creatures of myths!! She feels at home and finds herself amongst her people. She again meets Talvi, the mysterious male from the bookstore and her adventures begin!!
This suspensful and erotic tale has twist and turns that takes your heart by storm. Fans of Karen Marie Moning and Jeaniene Frost will enjoy this series!!
I tip my Nerd Girl hat to you and give you 5 glowing stars!!
