It’s hard out there for a lone-wolf.

Mackenzie Grey has started a brand new life in an attempt to escape the Brooklyn Pack. She settles in as a detective in a special unit of the LAPD when her identity is put at risk, and she has no choice but to run again. The question is: does she want to run forever?
As events force Mackenzie to confront her past, she is met with many surprises—including the revelation of her true ancestry. When Packs across the country learn of who she is, Kenz becomes the object of desire in a deadly wolf hunt, and she must once again fight to keep her freedom.
Witnessing first-hand the barbaric treatment of Lunas, Mackenzie has to make a choice—follow the prediction of her Vision Quest or let herself be CAGED…

***Gladys – #NerdGirlOfficial’s  Review***

Mature audiences please.  Some adult content.

I was and am very excited by this book release!  I loved loved loved SHIFT so much that I waited for the release of Caged with baited breath.  I could have begged and pleaded for an early release but I am sure it could have been misconstrued as “celebrity stalking” so I decided against it. (Not to mention that rarely works…  sigh)

If you read Shift, book 1 of the Mackenzie Grey, (which I strongly recommend you do first) you will know that this book begins a year after her arrival in LA. She is in a semi-settled into her life.  She has a “boyfriend” and a good job with the LAPD.  But she soon finds herself on the run again.  Sigh…  What is a lone wolf to do?  True to form and her instincts, Mackenzie does what she knows best…  SURVIVES!!!

Karina Espinosa successfully navigates her characters through a myriad of twist and turns.  Her continuity with her world building and characters are clear in both books and is something I make sure to keep a keen eye for with series books.  Professionally executed and a wonderful piece of art!

This is an exceptional urban fantasy series. If you love shifters, werewolves and vampires this is a series to add to your TBR.  Love love love it!!

5 stars and a tip of my Nerd Girl hat!!
