Troy Brennan

Every Southie in Boston knows that name. The son of a dead mobster. The heart-throb with steel-blue eyes. “The Fixer” who can make or break you in this city.

Oh, and my new husband.

Sparrow Raynes

That’s me. No one seemed to remember my name up until he barged into my life.
But then he caged me.
Kidnapped me.
And killed every chance I had to run away from the place where we grew up.
Put simply, Troy Brennan clipped my wings.

I have dreams, big ones, but I doubt he’ll ever let me chase them. I have no idea why he decided to take me as his wife. But I do know this: pissing off this man will not do me any good. At all.

Sparrow is a standalone, full-length novel. It contains graphic violence and adult situations some may find offensive.

***Kristin – #NerdGirlSoldier’s  Review***
From the moment I read the synopsis of this book, I knew I would be hooked and I was not disappointed. Sparrow grabbed my attention and refused to let go. I hated that I had to go to work and wait until later to find out what happened next. I loved the story. It was suspenseful, with some humor and romance weaved perfectly into it. Troy is your bad boy in the mob and he has this list of people he needs to deal with in order to avenge his father’s death; the mystery is who was the third man involved in Brennen Sr’s murder? (I admit, it wasn’t who I thought!) I felt that Troy’s character was incredibly well rounded; he starts out as this tough guy who thinks he can break Sparrow’s will or determination. Troy changes throughout the book as he sees just how much Sparrow affects his life and at the end he realizes that she is his life. It was beautiful to watch him realize what love is.

Sparrow is an amazing firecracker. She’s put into a nightmare of a situation because of her father, and yet she tries so hard to get along with her new husband. There are times where you see Sparrow want to just quit, but she decides to fight it out. A moment in the book comes where you see her make a huge choice that not only causes her to suffer, but Troy as well. That moment I feel had to happen in order for Sparrow to be able to see just what Troy can offer her, not just monetarily but emotionally. She grows more in that time frame than in the first part of the book in my opinion.

Overall, this book was just a thrill to read. I loved it from beginning to end and I know I’ll be adding it to the ever growing list of books to re-read. Go get your copy today and enjoy the ride.
