With the head of The Curators removed from power, a new leader has stepped in and relocated those imprisoned within its grasp. They will stop at nothing to get what they want, and they still want Jane and the power her gifts can bring them.
Jane and Colt’s next mission is to free the gifted, but this may be their toughest challenge yet. To win this war, they will put everything on the line. Even with the help of friends, what lies ahead will be difficult. Can Jane and Colt salvage their relationship while making personal sacrifices at the same time?
Book two in The Shadows Trilogy continues the story of Jane and Colt as they embark on a wild ride of raw emotions, danger, and determination in the face of overwhelming adversity.
I was completely blown away by this sequel. I can not get enough of Amy Hale’s unique writing style. That in itself makes her stories truly come to life and leap off the page. The introduction of the new characters was beautiful written and executed. I can honestly say she delivered yet again another incredible book.
In this installment we continue to follow Jane and Colt on their journey. This time to free the gifted (the children that were stolen) With the big bad still after Jane and the powers she possesses, this task proves difficult. The duo looks for help from friends. Searching for answers, trying to find the children and still trying to deal with the big bad powers that be. With twists and turns in every chapter it leaves you on the edge of your seat. I couldn’t put the book down. This story really captivates your insight on trust and betrayal. The book after all is called Shadows of Deception and I enjoyed trying to figure out exactly which character was the deceiver. Best of all was the cliff hanger at the end. I personally did not see that coming!
As always I will not give much detail because I do not want to give anything away. I encourage you to add this book to your reading list immediately! The author does NOT disappoint. However you WILL be disappointed if you do NOT read this book. I’m am anxiously waiting to read the next installment. Bravo Amy you blew me away yet again… 5 stars!!
