Colt Henderson is a man who lives for the moment. His past has taught him that life is unpredictable and often disappointing. A confirmed bachelor, he believes that love only exists in fairy tales.
She’s lost, scared, and can’t remember a thing about her past or her identity. She senses all is not as it should be, but without her memory, how does she know what to fear and what to trust? Because of her status as a Jane Doe, she names herself Jane and works to put her life back together. In the process she learns that she possesses unique abilities that certain people will kill for.
Fate throws Colt and Jane together, but they both have a lot to learn about forgiveness and acceptance. Colt’s determination and Jane’s remarkable gifts will send them on a journey they never expected. To survive they will need each other, but sometimes facts are scarier than fiction, and the truth is better left unknown.
First off let me start off by saying, “Bravo, Standing ovation!” This is the first book I have read by Amy Hale and I must say I was not disappointed in the least. She delivers a very cunning, simplistic, enticing, edge of your seat storyline. I can honestly say I can NOT wait to read the next book in this series.
The character is Jane Doe. Now before you say it… I know! Yes Jane Doe, a basic name used for women who can not be indemnified. You see though that’s the point. No one knows who she is, not even herself! She has absolutely no memory of her past or who she is. Scary right? Here enters the twist… Not only does she not know who she is, but she has certain abilities that people want and will use any means to get it. Talk about waking up and being scared to death and afraid of yourself AND everyone around you!
With all this what woman wouldn’t want a knight and shining armor to come to her rescue? Well Colt is not exactly that man. He is a complicated man. A sort of bad boy if you will that lives for the moment. Doesn’t worry about the future and certainly is mainly only concerned about himself. That is until Jane collapses at his cabin. Something changes in Colt. He doesn’t know why, but he just knows fate has brought them together for a reason and he needs to see it to the end.
The author brings about so many simple and realistic obstacles for these characters. She turns the most normal things into an amazing story and the chemistry and dialog between the two characters brings it all home. Amy Hale has an incredibly unique writing style that captivates the audience. It’s one main reason why this book was so amazing.
I encourage you to add this book to your reading list. I promise you will not be disappointed.
