When it comes to love she’s a professional skeptic. Is it too late for a career change?
If there’s one thing Georgiana Down is an expert in it’s bad relationships. That’s what inspired her blog Down on Love where she gives snarky advice–usually along the lines of “dump him.” In fact George is abstaining from men all together. At least that’s the plan–until she makes a trip back to her tiny hometown in the Catskills where meddling is an art form. . .
George loves helping out with her new baby niece but she’s counting the days until she returns to Boston. Then she runs into Casey Bowen her high school crush. The boy she once loved is now a handsome grown man–and suddenly George needs a little advice of her own. She’s in the right place because when she drunk posts on her blog everyone in Marsden has something to say about George and Casey. It’s like high school all over again–but maybe this time she’ll get things right. . .
I started this series with book 3 and loved it so much that I decided to go back and start at the beginning and I am glad that I did!! I enjoy author Jayne Denker’s writing style, her humor, her take on small town life and most of all I enjoy her characters. They are fun, they are unique and they are relatable to almost anyone. They bring a smile to the reader’s face and make them laugh out loud. I can’t wait to get started on book 2!
In this one we meet Georgiana (George) shortly after she starts a blog called “Down on Love”. This is her therapy, her way of getting it all out and the author’s way of making the reader laugh, chuckle and smile throughout the book. George lives in Boston and having just been to Boston myself it was fun to see the city through the author’s eyes. George hasn’t been home to “Mars”den in a long, long time….
Casey Bowen lives in Marsden and is still in love with George, even though they never dated. They had one epic kiss that has haunted him since that night – he sees George’s homecoming as his second chance and he doesn’t want to miss out…
Enter the small town of Marsden where everyone knows your business and is all up in it….The author does an amazing job of capturing the whole small town social issue where everyone gets involved with other people’s business…hence the Team George or Team Celia debate. This is where things start to get dicey…whose team will you be on?!?!?
This is a fast paced roller coaster of a ride (taken in a pink neon) that leaves the reader breathless and wanting more! Make sure that you grab this book today and jump right in! It is an amazing read that will leave you wanting more! I know that I certainly did! This is a new to me author that I am glad I took a chance on and I know that you will be too!! Don’t miss out, get started on this series today!! Enjoy!!
