With the Guild Council focusing their investigation on her instead of searching for the real criminal, Calla watches her dream of becoming a guardian rapidly slipping away. Time is running out, and as the lines between good and bad, right and wrong, begin to blur, whom can she turn to for help?

***Cianna – #NerdGirlSunshine’s  Review***
Another amazing read from Rachel Morgan! She’s made her place as one of my favorite Fae authors of all time with this series, because it just keeps getting better. Her world building is some of the best I’ve been able to experience, and I love how it keeps growing, expanding, and getting some deeper looks into what is going on.

As a new character, I loved Calla! I think she’s fantastic, and I loved seeing her character development through this series. In this books, she’s dealing with the secret that Chase kept from here, and kinda just trying to process everything when she ends up smack in the middle of some very odd happenings in Creepy Hollow, and she’s gotta get involved. She’s just a dynamic character that I wish I knew her in real life because I think she’d be that best friend that just shakes up your whole world. We deal with both Calla and Chase and issues in their past in this book, and trying to move forward and sort them out. They do have a odd age difference, but it’s a fae book so I usually don’t pay any attention to that because Fae look young but can be basically any age, and that goes for half fae too, so I think they are probably my favorite couple out of Rachel’s stories!

All in all, this book was fantastic and well written. The twists and turns Rachel throws into the story, I never see coming but I always love them because these books keep me on the edge of my seat. If you think that indie authors can’t hold up against mainstream novels, I dare you to read this series. She lives up to every big name fae author out there, and her plots are as unique, if not more so! These books are ones you want to re-read over and over, because there’s small details you didn’t catch first time around.

Well done and completely excited for book 6!
