Retaliating in kind, he captures the daughter of his enemy, planning to bargain with the devil.

FitzSimon’s daughter has lived her entire life in the shadow of the man she called father–yet never would she have imagined he would forsake his only daughter. ***Gladys – #NerdGirlOfficial’s  Review***
I don’t know where to begin… The story begins powerful enough. Iain MacKinnon’s past is haunting him in his dreams and the prolouge recounts it. It’s chilling and provides insight to a man starved.

But as the chapters begin to come forth, a new ordeal slaps him awake once more! His son is missing and he decides to retaliate and take the English lords daughter for ransom! Privy to details of her comings and goings the capture is easy enough but Page (his prisoner) is fearless and kind of “dense” enough to back talk the powerful Scottish Laird!!

Many things come to pass after her capture, Iain’s son’s release AND then Page’s ummmmm… recapture? Trickery?? Lies??? Hmmmm… You will see if you choose to read it. BUT one thing is for sure there was A LOT of internal monoluge and it really took away from the story line. The premise was good and I liked it. Although, I did find myself skipping over bits and pieces.

Without giving away too much there is sortof a HEA because you know the highlands are rough so the brutes got their “man on”. Sigh…

3 Stars!!
