Welcome to Nocturne Falls, the town where Halloween is celebrated 365 days a year. The tourists think it’s all a show: the vampires, the werewolves, the witches, the occasional gargoyle flying through the sky. But the supernaturals populating the town know better.

Living in Nocturne Falls means being yourself. Fangs, fur, and all.

Sebastian Ellingham isn’t known for being a happy vampire. And when his long estranged wife comes to town expecting to pick up where they left off, things take a sharp turn toward cranky. Sure he’s been protecting her for centuries, but her assumption that he’s still available (he is) rankles.

His answer is to hire a woman to play his fiancée. The lucky victim is Tessa Blythe, sister of one of the town’s deputies, librarian in need of a job and, oh yes, reluctant Valkyrie. Playing along with Sebastian is all about the end game for her, the position of Dean of Library Studies at the local private academy.

When unexpected sparks fly between them, they agree to mutually deny the attraction. Fate, however, has other plans…

***Stephenee – #NerdGirlSteph’s  Review***
I have read all of the books in Kristen Painter’s Nocturne Falls series and each one gets better and better (something that I didn’t think was at all possible)!! I enjoy the location – Halloween everyday all year long, who wouldn’t want that?!?! I enjoy her style of writing, as well as her characters! She continues to make the books fun, exciting and enjoyable to the reader! Each book the author adds a bit of mystery, some love and lots of on the edge of your seat drama!

This book shows us a different side of Sebastian – previously the reader only saw the cranky, non-friendly, almost bastard like side of him, however, in this book the reader sees a different side and begins to understand why we saw him portrayed the way he was in earlier books. The reader falls in love with this new Sebastian and begins to route for him throughout the book.

Enter Tessa Blythe, the sister of one of the town’s deputies and the reason that Sebastian begins to change….just to add some drama to the mix Sebastian’s estranged wife, Evangeline is back and making everyone miserable just like before she left. Can Tessa tame Sebastian? Will he go back to Evangeline? Are there people after both Tessa and Sebastian for his ability to go out in the daylight? The author piles the questions on as the reader frantically turns through the pages of the book trying to figure out what will happen next!

This is one of my favorites so far in this series, but I am looking forward to the next book in the series as well. Each time a new one comes out I instantly declare it a favorite, but it is going to be next to impossible for Author Kristen Painter to top this one! Add this one and all of the others to your TBR list – you don’t want to miss this amazing series! Enjoy – it’s one heck of a fun ride!!!
