***Katie – #NerdGirlKtLBLy’s  Review***
Sammy has always loved life on the road. Since she was little her father would take her on gigs where he would help set up lights and other backstage equipment. She fell in love with a rocker named Alan when she was 16 but after her father passed away and Alan wasn’t there for her, she broke up with him and moved on. 6 years later her brother Jase begs her to go home for Christmas and she is reluctant to go because she and her mother never got along. Her mother seems to despise her at times. She goes home to see her brother anyway and gets a surprise visit from Alan. They hook up once and after the holidays she goes on to her next gig which she finds out is for Alan’s band. He wants them to get back together but Sammy knows that music and fans are more important to him then she is going to be so she doesn’t want to. While working, Sammy meets Jasper and they hit it off right away. Alan and Jasper both want to be with her and Sammy is caught between her old love and new love and whole lot of sex, drugs, and rock and roll.
Everything to me seemed really rushed so I couldn’t really connect with the characters. I thought that Sammy seemed like a flighty and like the title says a reckless person. She is upset with her ex for not being there but still hooks up with him, then she meets another guy and hooks up right away. I did not like that at all. The romance was way too fast for me. Then there’s a section where literally everything that could go wrong, goes wrong and it’s rushed too and then months go by and things just go back to the way things were even though they were serious issues that happened. Real serious things happen yet there aren’t any real consequences that occur. I don’t mind stories with serious issues happening but when there’s no serious payoff and nothing really changes it seemed that the issue shouldn’t have been brought up in the first place.
