Synopsis

It’s hard enough being an undergraduate student, an intern at Downtown Manhattan’s police station, and a bouncer at a local bar. Add her now ex-boyfriend who recently dumped her for the school’s resident bimbo—oh, and she’s a werewolf.
Mackenzie Grey meets her match when she is kidnapped by the Brooklyn Pack and tossed between Sebastian and Jonah—the Alpha and the Beta. Being a lone-wolf in the city is dangerous, and now that the Pack has found her, so can every supernatural being in the Tri-State area. And not even her sarcastic, smart mouth can get her out of this.
When a string of kidnappings involves Mackenzie in supernatural politics, she questions her new acquaintances and finds unlikely allies. Can she escape Pack law and keep her freedom—or will she be condemned to an unwanted path?

***Gladys, #NerdGirlOfficial, #XoXoTheNerdGirl’s  Review***
First of all Bravo!! If you have read the shifter genre as of late, the majority of it filled with adult situations and sexiness. Not that there is anything wrong with that, I enjoy a good erotic tale (no pun intended), BUT Karina Espinosa managed to show a display of alpha strength when it comes to her lead character as Kenz learns her way through her new life.
The premise of the book is powerful. A lone wolf not knowing anything about herself or the lore runs into her area’s pack and defies the odds. Defies being a LUNA and defies bending to their will. She is overcome by her wolf’s urges of course but she does not succumb to them. To mate, to give in to violence and to protect, but not once does does she give into her urge to mate. Its like giving up her power. IT SIGNIFIES HER STRENGTH!! AND is a great build up to Karina’s next book.
You see… not every shifter needs to succumb to their wolf and it’s refreshing that she didn’t. It leads more to the storytelling. She is obviously a strong anomaly and her strength to hold off a suiter or a sexual partner leads me to believe she is stronger than even the strongest alpha. Now don’t get me wrong this isn’t a fairy tale! Kenz has a mouth of a sailor and short temper so I really liked her. She and I could be friends! Speaking of friends, Amy, her best human friend is just downright #AwesomeSauce. I am sad at the end BUT it reminds me of Jeaniene Frost Dark Huntress series and I just know it will come out just as well!!! Karina has a strong voice and her character development is on point!! I can’t wait for the next installment!!
5 Stars and a tip of the Nerd Girl hat to you my dear!!

This looks really good. I don’t have a problem with sexy stories either, but as you say, sometimes you want shifters (or anything else really) with, and sometimes without.
