Synopsis

Things are about to get Wicked in New Orleans.

Twenty-two year old Ivy Morgan isn’t your average college student. She, and others like her, know humans aren’t the only thing trolling the French Quarter for fun… and for food. Her duty to the Order is her life. After all, four years ago, she lost everything at the hands of the creatures she’d sworn to hunt, tearing her world and her heart apart.

Ren Owens is the last person Ivy expected to enter her rigidly controlled life. He’s six feet and three inches of temptation and swoon-inducing charm. With forest-green eyes and a smile that’s surely left a stream of broken hearts in its wake, he has an uncanny, almost unnatural ability to make her yearn for everything he has to offer. But letting him in is as dangerous as hunting the cold-blooded killers stalking the streets. Losing the boy she loved once before had nearly destroyed her, but the sparking tension that grows between them becomes impossible for Ivy to deny. Deep down, she wants… she needs more than what her duty demands of her, what her past has shaped for her.

But as Ivy grows closer to Ren, she realizes she’s not the only one carrying secrets that could shatter the frail bond between them. There’s something he’s not telling her, and one thing is for certain. She’s no longer sure what is more dangerous to her—the ancient beings threatening to take over the town or the man demanding to lay claim to her heart and her soul.

*** Gladys, #NerdGirlOfficial, #XoXoTheNerdGirl Review***

I adore the crap out of Jennifer Armentrout. I have practically every book she wrote, but this is the first one that I have written a review for. Not because I didn’t like her books but I read them long before I even started reviewing.

I purchased this book back when it was released but didn’t read it until I knew her new book in the series was going to come out soon. I am pretty weird about series book. I am so disapointed in myself for WAITING! Although I love the Fae AND don’t like when they are painted in a bad light, I sincerely enjoyed this book.

In Wicked the Fae are ALL evil there isn’t a good or a bad court, JUST A WORLD KNOWN TO THE ORDER AS EVIL. Ivy, the heroine, is a child of the Order. They all are really, it’s just how it’s done. The order are a group of protectors that fight the Fae and banish them back to the otherworld. Ivy is an extremely likable and relatable character. She is snarky, quick witted and fun and totally engrossed in the job. She is determined to right the wrongs of her past when she was “in training”.

After a bad run in, she is forced to go to the safe house where she meets REN. Naturally he is drop dead gorgeous and he has seen Ivy at her absolute worst!! Story of her life. (Or all of our lives) It’s up to Ivy and Ren to figure out how to work together and how to fight the threat looming over their head.

This book was hilarious. I know what i described above doesn’t sound funny because Fae overtaking the human world is NOT funny. BUT Ivy is! Oh did I tell you her roommate is a brownie she named Tink who has a tendency to watch Harry Potter and Twilight movies. He also uses her amazon prime account to shop for doll clothes for himself! I know… I know… Why does a fae hunter have a brownie living with her? Well you will just have to read it and see. SERIOUSLY READ IT.

I can’t wait until the next book comes out. I am already dying and want to read it again just to see if I missed anything.

Jennifer Armentrout, I give you 5 stars again can’t wait to read the next installment.
