When she’s forced to tutor bad boy football quarterback, Raven Davenport, she soon discovers all the things she’s missing in her relationship with Collin. ***Katie – #NerdGirlKtLBLy)’s Review***
Lexi has always been a good girl. She always obeys the rules, always listens to her super strict parents who homeschooled her until college, where she is a senior now, and never does anything extreme with her fiancé Collin. She has known Collin since she was 13 and the most they do is hold hands and have a quick kiss. Lexi and Collin are still virgins and Lexi always knew that she would be until her wedding night, but sometimes she wants a little more affection from Collin. One day she is set to tutor the star quarterback Raven Davenport. He seems like a nice guy but on their first tutoring session Raven starts sexting with someone so Lexi doesn’t think he’s taking his work seriously, and that he is just a player. After their first session Raven apologizes and Lexi reluctantly agrees to keep helping him. The more she helps, the more she realizes that he is smart, he just needs a little help focusing. She also she realizes that she is slowly becoming attracted to him. She still deeply cares for Collin but is starting to second guess if she’s marrying him for love or marrying him because it’s what is expected of her.
I did enjoy this story, however towards the end it was a little predictable. I did appreciate that she stuck to her values and even though she is becoming attracted to this other guy, she isn’t going to just throw her morals out the window and do things she may regret. I also liked how she stuck up for herself at the end. Knowing deep down what the right thing to do was and even though her parents may be disappointed in her, she still stuck to it and make her opinions known.
