Formerly known as the “town slut,” Liz Pritchard has a fantastic opportunity to ditch her less-than-stellar reputation and become Elizabeth Picard, primped and perfect socialite, by marrying a man she doesn’t love. To complete the transformation, though, she must return to her hometown to sell her childhood home. But when the only man who’d ever held her heart shows up in Meadowview, he opens the door to doubt…because erasing her past means erasing everything that was once in her heart…including Hunter.
Fourteen years earlier, Hunter Thorne had loved Lizzie Pritchard. But when he thought she’d gone behind his back and hurt him, he’d lashed out and broken both their hearts. Now a wildfire fighter, back in Meadowview, he realizes he wants more than forgiveness from Liz. Unlike him, however, Liz wants only to look to the future—a future devoid of love.
Like an out-of-control forest fire, passion and love build to raging flames within, and Hunter finds himself faced with allowing Liz to shove their former life back into a dark closet, or daring her reach for love…and claim her as the one he’s always held in his heart.
Author Rochelle French creates a picture perfect town in Meadowview, and it is one in which the reader can see themselves residing. She is heavy on the details of the town and is able to create that small town, everyone knows everyone and their business vibe for the readers. While it may seem like a turn off in real life, in this world it renders the readers speechless and full of emotion when everyone pitches together and helps to solve each others problems.
Author Rochelle French is also very detail oriented when she is describing her characters. I can clearly picture each one of them ( the men are so swoon worthy). She makes sure that the reader can become one with the story, location and characters and while doing all that she adds in a bit of romance and suspense/mystery along with it. She clearly brings everything important that a book needs and she makes it appear effortless on her part.
The plot is fast moving, one because the readers need more and want to know what is going to happen and two because the writing style flows so seamlessly and smoothly that the reader doesn’t realize that hours have passed and they haven’t moved other than to turn the pages. The book sucks you in and doesn’t let go until the very last punctuation mark….it is that good. While you may not want to take my word for it, go one-click this book and see for yourself what I am talking about – you will become hooked on this book and the others in the series – I am glad that I still have 3 more to go before I face that dreaded book series hangover.
Enjoy this one and the previous 2 and I will let you know how book 4 is soon – I know that once I start reading it I won’t be able to stop for long! Add this to your TBR list and find out what secret Hunter and Liz are keeping and what happens when it is revealed!!
