Stevie is a tattoo artist and a free spirit. She’s covered in tattoos, cusses like a sailor, and is quite brash. She lives payday to payday, can barely pay her rent, and uses a bicycle as her only mode of transportation. Every man in her sordid past has abused her, and she’s reached the end of her rope. Only attracted to tattooed alpha males, and primarily bikers, she begins to wonder if her choices in men have been poor. One day as she stands in a torrential downpour without a ride, a handsome man in a suit offers her a lift in his Porsche.
And she can’t help but wonder…
Wilson is a successful businessman and a self-made millionaire. He’s handsome, intelligent, loyal, and unlike many other men with similar interests and wealth, he’s got an extremely colorful personality.
But he also has a secret.
While having one of the worst days of his life, he meets Stevie. Immediately, his views on matters, and on life, change.
And he chooses to change her life in return.
But Stevie and Wilson are from two totally different worlds – worlds that historically don’t mesh well.
Can a self-made millionaire find love in someone who has nothing to offer him but herself?
Can a woman who has only known pain, abuse, and inconsistency see value in stability and sincerity?
Quite possibly only if both halves are willing to meet somewhere in the middle.
Pretty In Ink is a stand-alone modern day Cinderella story. It has no cheating, no sex outside the relationship, and a heartwarming HEA. Be forewarned, this is erotic romance, and it is intended for audiences who are mature, and at least over 18 years of age.
I didn’t think that I would be able to relate to a tatted, tattoo artist with a bad attitude and a chip on her shoulder, but underneath all of that she is just like me – yearning for love, acceptance and someone who doesn’t want to change her. She doesn’t care about the material stuff in life, she just cares about life and spending it with people who matter. I totally could and did relate to Stevie – I feel like there is a little Stevie inside of each of us.
Wilson was also a character that I didn’t think that I would relate too, but he is not just about money, he is about love and acceptance as well. Author Scott Hildreth takes his characters and makes them seem unlikable on the outside but inside they are regular everyday people with secrets, heartache and pain just like his readers. He does an amazing job with making them real to the reader and he gives each character a unique and endearing quality that reflects the softer side of both the character and the author…
This story completely throws the reader for a loop – you go in thinking that the story is going to be one thing and about 1/4 of the way into it you have no idea where the author is taking it or what may happen next. I love the author’s style of writing, his attention to details and his overall technique at drawing the reader in and never letting them go. This is a fast paced, frantic page turning adventure that the reader will want to read over and over again. It is truly a modern day take on a classic Cinderella story, but one that the reader will love and want to experience over and over again.
If you haven’t read any books by author Scott Hildreth you are truly missing out on some fantastic adventures – he takes you into the world of boxing, motorcycle clubs, tattoo shops and even just regular everyday life – but I can guarantee this, once you read one of his books you will want to devour them all! I highly recommend that you start here and begin your journey with one of his most amazing, engrossing books yet! Add this to your TBR list and just keep going down the line as all of them are well worth the time and money spent to read them!! I am already looking forward to his next book and I have no idea what it is – but I know that if it is anything like his previous books that it will be worth the read and nothing less than amazing!!!
