Fix Your Makeup is the third part of the Like A Lady serial. Please read Big Girl Panties first and Hide Your Crazy second, as this cannot be read as a stand alone.
It’s a summer fling; just keep telling yourself that and you’ll be alright. This thing with Mason Pierce, it’s just a fling, something fun to pass the time. He’s a rebound from the disastrous breakup, a band-aid, a patch over a wound that will help the hurt heal, right? ~Red
If someone had told me two months ago that I’d be spending the summer with Red Summers in my arms, I’d have called them crazy, but here I am and here she is. Life is just about as perfect as it can be. Except, it feels like she’s pulling away instead of drawing closer. Everyday, it seems that Red is putting more and more distance between us, and I don’t understand why. ~Mason
“I’ve loved you since you were ten years old. Hell, I may have loved you before that, but I don’t remember. I’ve only ever wanted you, Red. I’m never going to want anyone else,” I vow. “Just you.”
This book picks up right where book 2 left off – Red and Mason are still seeing each other and this includes all of the drama that we have read in the previous 2 stories. I still love Red and Mason and hope that they can get to their Happily Ever After, but after reading this book it is not something that is immediately within their grasp. Friendships are repaired and others are broken in this book and the ending will leave the reader with their mouths hanging wide open in a state of shock and disbelief.
Mary Lou, Mel, Red, Mason and all of the others that we have come to know and love really put us through the wringer in this book – and don’t think that for one second you know what is going to happen next because you don’t and you can’t…the author keeps the reader on the very edge of their seat trying to figure it out but there are so many twists, turns, bumps and ruts in the road that the only thing the reader figures out is that there is a lot of drama to finish up in the next story. The reader will be laughing, crying, screaming and cursing at this one and all for good reason – this is my favorite book of the series so far – but I am anxiously awaiting book 4 before I commit to this for good!
Do yourself a favor and pick up this series – it is a sure to be pick-you-up, laugh out loud read that will leave you wanting more. This series is one of the best that I have read so far this year and I am looking forward to much more by this author – she has the potential to go straight to the top! Keep an eye out for her and you can say that you were one of her early readers! Add this to your TBR list and do it quick – Enjoy!!
