Rei had lost it all: her family, a safe home, and, most important, her freedom.

Now, as Captain of the starship Kathya, she sails the galaxy stealing from anyone who crosses her crew’s path, using the very power her former captors gave her. She’s found friendship, a community, and adventure beyond her wildest dreams, but the ghosts of her past refuse to leave her in peace. Her old enemies are hunting again.

Still, when an old friend requests her help to secure ancient relics of knowledge, Rei can’t resist, even while she’s in danger of being captured. This is her chance to strike back. Her crew has the talent, the knowledge, and the motivation to help, but succeeding might be more transformative than she thought.

***Cianna #NerdGirlSunshine Review***
This book is more of a 4.5 then just a lone 4 star book, the author really created an amazing story here, and it really connects with the reader. Rei is such a dynamic character, she’s full of mystery in her origin story, but then her current story is fraught with stolen ships, ill gotten gains, and so much more.
The character is in search of answers, but also on the run from the Evil Dynasty who may have created her (it’s not clear yet..), and she’s making friends with other outcasts and cast offs. The detail is lush and really interesting. I think the author did a great job at building this story, giving us just enough info, and bringing us along for the ride!
All in all, I really liked this story. There’s no mention of Earth or humans in this story, we’re in space the whole time dealing with races of creatures, who seem human like, and have so much more to them.
Can’t wait to see what Book 2 holds!
