He wants a second chance…
Rui had everything he’d ever wanted. He was the Rock Run clan’s second and he’d found his mate, the sexy Portuguese shifter Valeria. But it all fell apart when he assassinated an innocent man, leaving the man’s young daughter an orphan. Sick at heart, he brought the girl back to Valeria and then went out for a night of heavy drinking that ended with him ensnared by the sun fae queen.
But can she trust him with her heart?
It was hard, but Valeria forged a new life for herself and her adopted daughter. She even found a new man. Then Rock Run’s alpha is kidnapped by the sun fae and Rui steps in to reclaim his position as second. Now he’s determined to win back Valeria as well.
A dark secret threatens them all…
But the new man is hiding a dark Gift. Soon Rui and Valeria are in a fight for not just their love, but their lives, and that of the little girl they’ve both come to adore.
CLAIMING VALERIA is a full-length paranormal romance novel, free of cliffhangers, with an HEA. For readers 18+ only.
She has such a fresh take on paranormal romance! Truly unique in her mythology and the bringing of her characters together.
After a mission gone wrong, Rui, the second in command in his Fada clan dissapears for a year against his will, abandoning his mate, Valeria. When he returns, he fears it’s too late to win her back and falls into a hopeless downward spiral of women and wine.
Finally, Rui is starting to pull himself back together and is determined to win Valeria back. They are drawn back together when Valeria’s adopted daughter is threatened by both Fada and Fae clans alike. Valeria still has feelings for him but is determined to move on, afraid to forgive him and chance getting hurt again.
Despite all his troubles, Rui is a strong and sympathetic character who is trying hard to get his life together and earn back the respect of his friends and family, something anyone could relate too. Valeria, is sweet but definitely no pushover, she was a very strong heroine willing to do anything to protect her adopted daughter.
This book was absolutely amazing! At first i couldn’t picture how there was any way these two could be brought back together. Rivard pulled it off quite well. Another 5 star book for this series!!!!
