Synopsis

My name is Maddox St. Clair. I attract women and trouble…in that order.
One night, after Maddox has been brought to the ER kicking and swearing after a fight, the young Dr. Lily Brasco’s world changes. She’s chest deep in her draining and hectic career of completing her residency and finds herself disillusioned with the inhumane way her boss, Dr. Mandel, treats the patients.
One look in Maddox’s eyes and Lily’s temptation erupts. She struggles to resist not wanting to get involved with a troublemaker. Meeting Maddox sets into motion a chain of events in which she has to make a choice; betray her values or let him go.

***Kristin – #NerdGirlSoldier’s  Review***
I was incredibly excited to read and review this book. The description drew me in and I felt that I had to read it. After having read it, I wish I could say that it lived up to expectation. Unfortunately, it did not. I felt that the plot was not as developed as it could have been. I had a very difficult time understanding Lily’s life and the story itself. There was very little dialogue and the book read more like a diary or journal than anything else. That didn’t work for me. I had to force myself to read it. I felt that the characters were flat; they showed no growth at all and it was hard to keep up with all of the extra characters in the book. Along with very little dialogue, there was hardly any interaction with Lily and Maddox until literally the last part of the book. The interactions that they did have were to me unsatisfying. While some questions were answered, more popped up and were never addressed. There was so much focus on the fight Maddox is in that it left very little attention on their relationship. I was also very disappointed with the ending of the book. It’s a cliffhanger that just leaves the reader confused and unsure of what they just read. There will be a second book, but I will not be reading it.
