Synopsis

Scarlet Rodrick is a young, career-focused, Floridian architect. At a young age, Scarlet suffers an emotional jolt when her biological mother – Clara Hill, abandons her. As if living with a neglectful parent was not enough, Scarlet faces being left alone to fend for herself.
Following her abandonment, Scarlet is adopted by the Belkas, a loving and wealthy family. However, love and wealth are not enough to heal the scars caused by neglectful parenting. Although she is a successful architect, Scarlet is unsuccessful with love – until the day, she meets a promising obstetrician/gynecologist, Dr. David Jensen.
David is a client of Scarlet’s architecture and realty firm. Their connection is intense, so they have no other option but to keep their relationship a secret. David awakens an unfamiliar lust in Scarlet, and from their first meeting Scarlet is enthralled by David’s physical and inner splendor. Their summer romance leaves David and Scarlet in an erotic daze, and for a moment Scarlet forgets the emotional damage left by her neglectful biological mother.

***Stephenee, #NerdGirlSteph Review***
This is author Kash Jugg’s debut novel and it packed a huge punch!  The plot, setting, details and characters didn’t feel like they were a first time author’s work – they were so well done that it seems like she has been writing for years.  The author spent a lot of time making sure that the characters were developed, that the reader was hooked from the very beginning and the details that the author threw in were so much fun to read!  If there is a clothing or shoe designer out there, they were name dropped in detail throughout this story.

The reader instantly falls in love with Scarlet – she had the worst beginning to life, but slowly things turned around for her and she finally found out what family and love really mean.  She meets David and it is lust at first site – but is that enough?!? Enter crazy ex-fiance Kate and the reader is yelling, crying, and on the edge of their seat waiting for the non-stop action, twists and turns to stop.  There was no predicting where this story was going next!

The reader runs through the entire gamut of emotions as they take this journey with Scarlet, her friends and her family.  The reader will laugh, cry, ugly cry and impatiently wait on the edge of their seat trying to figure out what may happen next!  The author uses so much detail throughout each aspect of the story, whether it be the architecture, the location (I could see the clear blue water and feel the Florida breeze on my face), or even just the finest details such as the gated community, the reader could vividly picture each and every thing that the author describes.  She really takes the reader straight into the pages of her book!

The only downfall to this book was that there were more than a few spelling, punctuation and grammar mistakes throughout the story.  Usually this is a major turn-off for me, but the story and the characters were so well done that I was able to overlook it.  The story really takes over and the minor things aren’t so important when you are reading the book.

This is an amazing book that needs to be added to any TBR list and fast tracked to the top of the list – go on this phenomenal journey with Scarlet and find out if she finally gets her Happily Ever After!  Enjoy, I know that I did!!
