***THIS BOOK WAS GIVEN TO ME IN EXCHANGE FOR AN HONEST REVIEW***
Bree Kingston’s life isn’t all it seems to be. Everyone around her sees a beautiful, successful, confident woman who always goes after what she wants, including men. Hidden behind this façade, Bree has a secret that has been following her for three years. It has become Bree’s obsession, and it’s one that can cost her everything.
Ever since Louis Mercado came into Bree’s life things have been different. Always the perfectionist, Bree finds herself struggling to be everything Louis needs and more. Bree’s secret finds a way to push into the present and threatens to come between them. Will Bree’s dark secret overcome her, or will her and Louis prove that love conquers all?
Ashli Rose has done it again! She’s given us another great love story with ups and downs that you won’t see coming! As much as I enjoyed Ava and Gavin’s story in book 1, Bree and Louis’ story will leave you burning.
I enjoyed so much about this book. The characters are easy to relate to; Louis is a cop and Bree is a lawyer. Bree also has a secret struggle: she has a legitimate eating disorder. The author does a wonderful job of bringing to light just how serious these disorders can be without giving the reader a visual of the disorder. I enjoyed that Bree’s character grows throughout the book and that she has depth. Louis is as I said a cop. He’s got a dominating personality but not overly so; he’s fierce and protective. He’s perfect. I also love that again in this book we get both points of view because Louis gives you a lot of insight into why he is the way he is. I enjoyed watching him learn and grow just as much as Bree.
I loved the details that Ms. Rose put into the book. She makes you feel like you’ve fallen into the story and you see/feel/hear everything she puts into the book. I enjoyed that she kept us updated on Ava and Gavin’s life, as well as kept the flashbacks for Louis and Bree. They truly helped me understand their past and how they got to this point. If you haven’t read book one, you need to. I’m hoping that there will be a book three about the oldest sibling because I love this family so much. Give Ashli Rose a try; you won’t be disappointed.
