***THIS BOOK WAS GIVEN TO ME IN EXCHANGE FOR AN HONEST REVIEW***
Life is never black and white.
It’s a fact Josie knows too well, right next to wanting what you can’t have. And even though Jon is her friend and colleague, he pushes those boundaries on the regular. There are times when she feels like she can’t escape him, and others where she doesn’t want to.
The tension twists tighter every time they meet, but Jon’s unavailable. Live-in girlfriend of years unavailable. As much as Josie cares about him, and as much as she wants more, his flirting is a cruel tease. Unfair. And she’ll push him away if she has to, if that’s what it takes to protect herself.
As far as Aphrodite’s concerned, Jon and Josie getting together is inevitable. But keeping them together may be harder than any of them realize, and what Josie thinks is her happy ending may just turn out to be fool’s gold.
Although it is numbered 3.5 this actually sits before Doe Eyes in the chronology of things with us finding out more about the history of Josie and Jon before the events in Doe Eyes took place.
That being said, this probably could stand by itself (although my personal preference is always to read them all in order) and I certainly don’t feel that knowing the eventual outcome form the other book put any kind of dampner on the story. After all if we are honest we all know how we want these things to work out :D
4 1/2 out of 5 stars for me.
