Your Review (Paste in box): Paranormal and vampires, I was hooked. The story starts out with Megan as you typical 17 year old that has just moved to a new town. However she starts to hear the voice of a man. She feels like she is going crazy but she is not. In fact when she meets Kearn what he tells her will change her life. Megan is a actually a Dhampyrs (half human half vampire. This starts the whirlwind of a new life for Megan, one she has a hard time excepting.
The characters in this story were strong. Megan had to accept a new life and she chose to do this all on her own. She can be stubborn at times but deals with her change in a very adult way. Kearn wants to help Megan but at an ultimate price. Mordin is the one who finds and guides Megan. He is strong and patient with her. Even the secondary characters were well developed and played an important part in the story.
I loved that this story took on a new twist regarding vampires. Ms. Winters did include the usual vampire characteristics but also put a fresh new twist on some characteristics. Throughout the story Megan learns more and more about Dhampyrs and Dhampyresa and she finds friends that help her learn and that she can lean on. When evil prays on the Dhampyresa’s Megan decides that she needs to do everything she can to help. The evil one summons her and she is determined to help save herself and her friends. The story is action packed and keeps you turning the pages to find out what is going to happen. The twists and turns in the story will keep you guessing.
Does Megan win out against evil? Does everyone come out alive? What does Megan’s future hold?
Pick up this book to find out. The ending does wrap up this story but leaves more for the coming future.
