Synopsis

After surviving the Desert of Lost Souls, Michael and Eric Descado have awoken in the Sanctuary of Ascendance to find their physical bodies transformed to the pinnacle of human evolution. Soon to be trained in the ways of war by the enigmatic spirit master Peter, they come to realize that Mason Don is their home now, and only by using their new abilities against the invading Menthranki can they hope to save it.

At the same time in the city of Philian, Kali Tur and Gann Ruger embark on a desperate journey to reunite Jamie Laws, Rene Rameriez and Rebecca Ballantree with the brothers Descado, their collective futures uncertain now that Kali and Rebecca have become lovers in secret.

And in the far arctic north, the vampire Empress Gorion plots her final strike against the last human fortress of Reglis.

***Derek – #NerdGirlDad’s  Review***
This can be read as a ‘stand-alone’ as the first part of it is an excellent re-cap to remind you of what has gone before. You will realise that Book One, whilst seeming excellent (I gave it five stars when I reviewed it) was merely setting the stage for the adventure told in this one.
An adventure it truly is and it has everything a Fantasy fan could wish for – many battles, and they are so well described that you could imagine yourself there; the author’s knowledge of primitive weapons and their use is very impressive. Don’t be put off by the length (I read a PDF version with over 800 A4 pages.) My interest kept me turning pages right up to the last one as I’m sure it will yours, and any attempt to edit it down to a more expected length would spoil it.
