***THIS BOOK WAS GIVEN TO ME IN EXCHANGE FOR AN HONEST REVIEW***
If only the journal that Caylee had left behind had been found by the right person…she might not have been led straight back into the world of the creatures that she used to destroy.
After a few months of trying it alone—and failing—she begins working with her old partner again—figuring, if she’s going to be killing undeads, she might as well be getting paid for it. But then someone else from her past crosses her path, making her mission all that more difficult…since he wants to kill her.
As her new life unravels around her, she has one mission on her mind…to destroy the one who made her this way. Now, if only she could get her heart and her head on the same page, she might be able to get the revenge she seeks…
This is book two in the Caylee’s Confessions Series.
I have slightly mixed feelings about this and it is the first 4 star (as opposed to 5) that this author has earned from me. Despite the book being well written with all the drama and strong character portrayal that I loved in the first one, for me I almost wish that it had been left as a stand alone.
That being said do I think I could have resisted seeing what the follow up book had in store? Not a chance! All things considered I think fans of book 1 would probably feel the same way and want to know where the story went.
So I am left with a catch 22 situation because I both wish the story had ended with the one book and yet I think the author probably wanted to know as much as fans did what happened and at the end of the day I read the book in one sitting ….. so that pretty much says it all!
A solid 4 out of 5 stars from me.
