***Kristin – #NerdGirlSoldier’s  Review***

I truly enjoyed reading this book and think that you will as well. The story line was very well developed; I didn’t feel that there were holes in the plot or missing pieces anywhere. I enjoy books that evoke strong feelings as I read and this book didn’t disappoint.

Kylie is a wonderful character. She’s essentially a single working mom who’s doing the best she can because her husband walked out on her and their daughter. I love that she’s independent and doesn’t want pity or for people to do things for her. Not once did she complain or whine about having to do what she needed to take care of her child. The relationship she has with Evan is incredible. I did get a little mad at her when she didn’t tell him her big secret but as I read further, I could understand her reluctance to tell him about her husband Brad. To her, even though she was married, it was only on paper. Kylie knows that Evan is a rich guy but she doesn’t take advantage; instead she gets mad at him when he tries to buy her the world. I love her independence. It gives the message that one, money isn’t everything, and two you can be stronger than you think.

Evan is just fantastic. He’s sexy and attentive. While I love that he wants to take care of Kylie and Emma, I hate that he keeps Alex in his life. I wanted to just smack him and yell at him that he needed to wake up or he’d loose Kylie for good. For a guy who’s never had a real committed relationship or been around children, Evan is a fantastic stand in dad for Emma. It made my heart happy that he just accepted that to be with Kylie, he would get Emma as well. When he finally gives Alex the boot for good, I cheered! I think my daughter thought I was a little crazy. :)

Brad is Emma’s biological father and Kylie’s husband, later her ex-husband. He’s a jerk. He leaves without a word as to where he’s going or when/if he’s coming home. Brad also leaves Kylie with a mountain of debt that pushes her to start working as a stripper. I didn’t like him very much, but for me that’s a good thing. I love a character that I can dislike. For me that means the author intended for him to be a jerk and that’s how I see him. He missed out on Emma’s first year of life. You’ll find out where Brad was and why he left. I’m really glad that Kylie left him and ended up with Evan. Evan is a much better man.

Overall this book was amazing. The characters were very well developed and they grew, yes even Brad grew. The story felt real and there’s no cliffhanger. I truly think if you give this book a chance, you’ll enjoy it. Happy reading!
