It was happening again. The dreams. The nightmares. It was something that seventeen year-old Elizabeth Hayes thought she d outgrown; dreams that would come true; detailed premonitions of how people would die. This time she dreams about her boyfriend, Michael Young, and soon discovers that he has been found… dead.
He has not crossed over because he was murdered, and now the murderer is after Lizzy. His spirit won’t rest until she is safe. As a newbie spirit, the easiest way for him to make contact is through Lizzy’s dreams. When she dreams, it’s as if he hasn’t died.

Lizzy must learn to pull on her inner strength to survive horrifying events, and is faced with a most difficult decision. Would she risk her life to save her best friend and the very person responsible for Michael’s death?

Meanwhile, Michael learns everything he can about his supernatural gifts to help. But will it be enough to save her?

***#NerdGirlLaura’s Review***

I have only read one of Cameo Renae’s books before and that was ARV-3. I really enjoyed ARV-3 and gave the book four stars. I was not sure what to expect from Cameo with this book with the stories being so different and I wondered how her writing styles would differ and if I would like this one just as much if not more.
What she managed to do in this book, which she did again in ARV-3 was create relationships that you believe in, which makes the ups and downs and the drama so much more real. You connect with the characters because even though aspects of the story are paranormal the relationships that are laid out are real enough for you to connect with even with the paranormal aspects taking it beyond your reality.
What I did love about this book was the descriptions and the image Cameo created with words. The world she gives you is beautiful and draws you in without over stimulating you, which sometimes authors can do and you get so bogged down in the details on the page you miss the beauty of the scene they have created.
In My Dreams is well paced, with the story flowing naturally and progressing at a pace that sat perfectly with the characters. The story definitely grips the heart and gives you that dread in your chest that makes you question why you trust authors with you emotions in the first place, but you forgive Cameo because it provides so much more.
This novel was Cameo’s debut novel, and it definitely didn’t show. I give In My Dreams 5 stars. This book did what I want a book to do and that is to make me feel more than one or two emotions, whilst delivering a story that pulls me in and holds on.
