This novel is the introduction to The Dragor Series

Yoshiko is different; different to the point he feels existance is really quite pointless. Last to breathe fire, clumsy and with strange colourings he acquires a hoard of tormentors. Life seems so much more difficult for him: trying to fit in, trying to hide a secret about himself.

But all that is about to change when he meets Guya, an elder and a recluse who knows things that no-one else in Dragor does and about places and people Yoshiko never dreamed existed. A courageous mission exists if Yoshiko can pass the trials that Guya sets – tasks that will require wisdom, fitness and bravery

The Land of Dragor is a place of magic and mystery, bursting with adventure, quests and many secrets untold..

***Misty – #NerdGirlShadow’s Review***
“Yoshiko and the Gift of Charms” follows the coming-of-age adventure of a unique dragon hatched from a very special egg. The egg in which he is hatched from is scary to some of the other dragons. As a youngster, Yoshiko struggles to fit in, he learns that he is special, far more special than he has ever realized.
The book did make me chuckle and the world-building of a tapestry of dragon lore was fantastic. The writing was also very smart, with references to history, sociology and psychology.
The attention to detail was fantastic and the little interesting tidbits such as recipes and references to surroundings made the book more interesting. The history behind the land are thorough and interesting as well.
I have to admit, this is usually not my cup of tea. But, overall, I did enjoy the story. I usually don’t go this far into fantasy, but it’s going to be perfect to read to my daughter at bedtime, especially because there are some valuable life lessons to learn. It is a very cute book, creative and well written.
Although the book is written for a younger crowd, I can honestly say I know many adults who would adore it. So, if you’re ready for a great, fun-filled adventure, or you’re one of those people like me, who read with the whole family, this is a perfect pick.
