Unable to control her magic, Evie Martin is sent to a secluded cabin in the woods by her mother, the High Priestess of the Oaken Leaf Coven. She has been given three tasks to complete before she is able to return to the coven. When Flynn appears in her cabin, concentrating on magic is the furthest from her mind.

Flynn is hot, sexy, and claims he has the ability to help her control her magical powers. As Evie plunges into a world of lust and excitement, she finds out Flynn is keeping a secret from her—a deadly secret. Can a little sex and magic be the cure, or has Evie’s time finally run out?

***Kristin – #NerdGirlSoldier’s Review***
When I first read the description for this book, my curiosity was piqued; however, when I started reading, I was incredibly disappointed. The book started off great and grabbed my attention. I loved Evie at first because she seemed to have spunk, but when she’s confronted by Flynn she lost depth and turned into one of those female characters who falls in love with a strange hot guy she just met. Flynn may be hot but he has no depth at all. There are no changes in his personality. Both of them seem to fall in love relatively quick and for me that’s not realistic.

The story line was okay. I had hoped that the story would be more drawn out and have more detail but there was none. It is a very short story, but I think it had the potential to be a much longer novel. When Evie does spells, all you get is that she did a spell. Not what kind of spell or what she used. I think the only thing you see her do is a levitation spell and that’s it. There was one big surprise that the story held that I enjoyed and for those who want to read the story, I won’t spoil it for you.

I will tell you that it is a cliffhanger story. That’s another disappointment for me. I can normally enjoy a book ending with a cliffhanger if it gives me some sort of idea where the next book is going or where the story is headed, but this one for me doesn’t do that. It’s like the book just ends and you have to wait to get the next one. I really think that if the author had made this a full length novel with much more detail and depth that it would have been a better read.
