Synopsis

“Love is a fire. But whether it is going to warm your heart or burn your house down, you can never tell.” -Joan Crawford

Dr. Katy Malone has sworn off love after losing those she loves most in her life including her father, a member of the FDNY. She has decided to spend her time focusing on her medical research. Her ex-fiancée, and fellow doctor, isn’t ready to give up on loving her though.

Firefighter Nick Garrity is on a search for the future Mrs. Garrity. As he pushes thirty, with no prospects in sight, he’s afraid he’ll never find her. A devoted member of FDNY, he loves the thrill of his job and the satisfaction it brings him. He strives to teach the proby firefighter, Patrick Doyle, the ropes and pass on his passion to him.

***Stephenee – #NerdGirlSteph’s Review***
The debut novel Love is a Fire by Lyssa Layne is a truly remarkable book. She has knocked it out of the park with this one and it has writing style, flow and storyline that hints at a much more experienced writer.  I loved this book from start to finish and neglected everything on my To Do list to read this in one sitting.  It was one of those books that every time you told yourself you were going to stop after this chapter it hooked you in and you couldn’t put it down.  This book had it all from romance,  drama, jealousy, amazing friends, and hot, sexy firemen.

The author did an amazing job with the character descriptions and I was able to immediately connect with Katy. She’s faced a lot loss, despair and heartache but has still moved forward with her life, not letting the bad things get her down or set her back.  You cheer for Katy to have a happy ending after all that she has endured, and you just might think that she will get it, however, just when you think you know what is going to happen you are surprised by the next chapter. It is an amazing story with a lot of twists and turns and a surprise that you would not have expected. Make sure you have a box of tissues nearby as you are reading this, as I can almost guarantee that you will need them.

Make sure you add this to your TBR list, it will make a great beach/pool read! I am looking forward to the next book in the series as the cliffhanger will leave you asking questions long after you finish reading!
