Synopsis

Dr. Samantha Moore is one of the youngest and most acclaimed researchers in the world. Her specialty is blood and she has been recruited by the largest pharmaceutical company in Scotland. For what purpose she cannot begin to imagine, but in an attempt to break out of her painfully shy shell, she throws caution to the wind and leaves her family and best friend behind in Savannah. Dr. Kade Gunnach is taking a chance hiring an outsider, but he’s desperate to find out how to help his sister. He believes the key lies in her blood, but so far, no one has found the answers. When the new researcher walks into his office, he’s unprepared for his reaction to her and the life-changing ramifications her arrival brings. They’re drawn together by a force neither is prepared for, but Kade is holding something back. Something that could scare her away. When Samantha learns his secret, will she run? Will Kade be able to live with the answers he’s been desperately searching for?

***Gina – #NerdGirlCirynnite’s Review***
When a small town girl breaks out of her comfort zone and embarks on a journey to Scotland the unexpected happens, she falls for her boss. I really enjoyed reading this book. You know a story is good when you go to reread it and it’s not dull or tedious. I found the characters to be pleasant and refreshing. This book contains romance somewhere between insta-love and meant-to-be love. It’s a nice, mostly uncomplicated love story with an interesting paranormal twist. Kade is yummy as the alpha male and head of his clan. You get to know some of his family and what his brothers and sister are like. Samantha is easy to relate to and you want to root her on for breaking out of her bubble. There is also the mysterious Cole vying for Sam’s attentions. Overall I really enjoyed this book but was left with a few times where I would have liked more of an explanation than what was given. I also really liked the lead into the next book in the final chapter. I thought it was quite clever! Although I was left with some questions, I really hope they will be answered within the other books.
