Title: A Demon in Love (Sons of Gulielmus #2)
Author: Holley Trent
Published Date: May 5th 2014
Genre: Paranormal Romance
***THIS BOOK WAS GIVEN TO ME IN EXCHANGE FOR AN HONEST REVIEW***
Charles Edison has spent most of his 123 years courting women for Hell. As a faithful son of the demon Gulielmus, he’s never known true affection for women. Which is funny, seeing as how he’s descended from a love god on his mother’s side. Now that he sees his brother falling head over heels, Charles wants the same for himself. He wants to belong to someone.
The Fates conspire to right old wrongs, and Charles learns the woman destined for him is one he shouldn’t want. Marion Wilder’s family has been on the supernatural Most Wanted List for twenty-five years because they were responsible for the demise of a demon. Gulielmus would kill her if he had the chance.
But Marion’s the only human woman Charles can touch without harming. She’s his one chance at having a normal life and a real family, and he would give up anything to keep her. Even his father’s favor.
***BOOK ” IN THE SERIES BUT CAN BE READ AS A STAND ALONE***
But Charles has also inherited some special gifts from his mothers side… He is a Cupid, Charles has a talent for discovering peoples soul mates.
But this time, he finds that the woman he is following is fated to be his soul mate…She just doesn’t know it yet.
Marion, the object of. Charles new mission is a tiny spitfire who can, drive a truck like it’s the family station Wagon, while being able to stare down and swear to the other truckers she meets at the various truck stops on her routes.
Marion is a warded soul, who has been protected by a shield all her life, this shield keeps Marion coming to harm from supernatural forces, including Charles deadly soul snatching touch, but it’s about to run out.
If Charles want to get Marion to like him for himself and not his alluring incubus powers, then his courting timeframe is limited. So he sets out to gain her trust as to secure his true loves fate.
Marion has grown up in the foster system, she’s a loner who has nothing but the big rig she calls home, Che can feel the attraction towards Charles, and she’s soon winds up having HAWT raucous sex with him….
And that’s where I will leave it, I don’t want to spoil the book for future readers.
A Demon in Love is a fast read, with lots of supporting characters who are well rounded and I think we may see them in future books.
Charles is a great leading Man, with his old worldly charm ( he’s over 100!) and Marion being a little spitfire who has had to fend for herself most of her life, is also an engaging character and I enjoyed how she constantly made Charles work to gain her trust.
I enjoyed this story from start to finish, and although this is book 2 in the series, they can be read as standalone books and I didn’t find any issues with not reading book 1 first, although I think I may just have to find book 1 and see if it’s as good as this.
Any paranormal book lover will enjoy this story…
